I've got a dinafem critical plus 2.0 that showed 3 or 4 solitary balls around Thanksgiving. I plucked them and hope for the best but I made a somewhat shocking discovery the other night. A few of its pistils in the buds are turning orange at too early of a stage imo and several of the neighboring plants have what appear to be seeds growing in the first sexing pre flowers that develop along the new nodes on the main stalk of the plants. I've gone over all the plants with a fine tooth comb looking for nuts and I have not found another single one or any open bananas for that matter. Do I chop it down and soak a new bead or let it ride? It is the furthest along bud wise and I would assume it has 3 weeks or so left in its life cycle.

i had to make this call on my first grow, just harvesting now.

i had three plants, and one of them grew a pair of balls early on - i plucked 'em. a week or so later, i had nanners strangely growing out of calyxes on a couple of the lowest branches. by now, this plant was the most impressive of the three, so i took the risk and kept her. in chopping her down, i found a couple of small, shrivelled bunches of nanners inside the lower branch buds, along with a single perfectly formed seed. rest of the plant appears to be fine. however, i think she matured a little on the strange side.

basically, i'm glad i decided to hang on to mine (very nearly got scrapped), however, if i had more plants that were at risk, she'd have been tossed out.

i don't think i'll be as forgiving moving forward unless i have a real need to be - i'll chuck any hermies at first ball/nanner

but ultimately the risk, is up to you.

Not seeing male "nanners".... individual calyx can be found at each node or inter node. Male "balls" have distinct look just as a calyx has its own look.

is the photograph of the calyx showing that they've been seeded? is that a partially formed seed below it?

okay so i re-read

i think he's asking if his girls are pollinated and what to do about it?

if not then i'm really confused :paleo:

Fact, I did indeed pull 3 or 4 100% guaranteed nanners off this girl. I plucked one of the swollen calyxes and popped what appears to be an immature seed out of it which I believe confirms that somehow someway I missed a banner or two that have dropped pollen in my grow room. It would appear alot of the super early sexting calyxes have what appears to be seeds.

The close up bud shots should show groups of retreating orange hairs- it's been a while since I last grew and I can not remember if that is normal or if those could also be pollinated pistols receding into the buds.
