Was curious if anyone has any recent feedback on using these COB's?

Looking around for another DIY and these caught my attention over the 1812's........

Thanks

I don't think I am sure what you are referring to? Did you mean to upload a pic? :eek1:

:baked: or is it just me?

:pass:

Pics are always cool of builds but I was looking for feedback on their performance in the garden. How do they grow plants vs other brands of COB's or vs HPS, or in general, etc.

Thanks

I have two 1825s that I run at 1400mA or 70W. 90cri 3000k, I think I need to space them a bit further from the canopy next grow. Considering upgrading from a meanwell HLG-185H-C1400B to a HLG-240H-54B to allow them to run at 120W each with over 50% efficiency. They don't put out very much heat at 70W but 120W may be a bit much with the lack of an exhaust in the grow space.

I haven't tested any other brands of cobs but I'll say that if you're thinking about building with citizens, go for it, they are great high quality chips that seriously put out a lot of light. You can get the 1825 for $40 and the 1212 for $10

I'm still perfecting growing as I have only harvested a few plants but I am sure once I throw an autopot under these cobs with a good quality medium, their potential will really start to shine.

I will be using

2x HLG-240H-C2100b
4 pcs SST X for Vero 29
2) 4 pcs Vero 29 3000K 80 CRI B type so 50V
3) 4x Reflector adapters and 4xReflectors
4) 50K ohm potentiometer and 5.6K ohm resistor
5) Plastic Junction box

this lamp is going to Rock!!!! :headbang: over 400 watts!! hang around I will journal it!!:pass:

I'm looking at a second 600 watt monster for the second half of my 5x9 that currently has a 1K hps in it.

My current light for flower is logged in my DIY journal, but it's 8 3K 3590's on 140mm pin sinks with khatod lenses being pushed 4 to each mean well 320-2100B which there are 2 of. I built the 1 light as two separate bars because I grow different strains all the time and the two bars dim independent of each other. This allows me for flexibility for different strains and in an area where not everything will be going in and out at the same time.........

I was looking at the Vero 29's gen 7 which is what I wanted to get when I bought this light but soon after citi dropped the 1825's too.

Thanks for your input. I personally would not employ the 1212 for this job I think it's pushing it too hard for such a small LES and would affect longevity but hey what do I know.

Not a ton of grows with them yet. I think @pop22 is running them and impressed. It's just a larger version of a already good cob

How are the newer vero's for efficiency up that high? Should be closer to 420 watts when done. Lots of power coming from that setup can't wait.
