Grow Mediums cleaning autopot system - what do you do

Not too sure about Drip-clean as a product. I wasn't aware that the ATACLEAN was only available in Europe either. I would think you could get it on eBay??

I am sure if you ask more around, someone will know of something that will help keep the lines clean.

Welcome to the forum and thanks for sharing your experience
I have only ever used autopots, so don’t know any different.
I have never used any cleaning stuff before, I generally just clean it via the jetwash where I can.
Didn’t actually know you can run in with feed at the same time, does it mess with EC or anything, do you have to counteract it by putting less feed in when using it.

TBH I don't really worry about the fact that is makes the EC go up a touch. I also do not calculate it against any nutes. I only had one strain, and that was just because the strain was sensitive, that I needed to reduce the amount of nutes to keep EC below my normal levels. I really love e ATACLEAN. I have had no issues at all with gunk and I have left the lines for four weeks without flushing other than with water(no pressure).

@pop22 taught me when I first started using autopots to get a 60ml syringe and use the to force clean water through your hoses. In addition, he taught me to have a backup set of hoses all made up in case of a clog, pull off clogged, replace with clean and set about cleaning the clogged lines with syringe. @legalizeme

I run dripclean in my reservoir and also 1/4" shutoff valves to each tray. Bottom right of pic you can see the valve going into the tray from the feed line.

Sounds like a lot of work. I have never done any of that. ATACLEAN, clean res weekly and Autopot bases as well, and I don't worry about cleaning lines until in between grows. If you like doing more work, and enjoy that, good luck with that.

I travel a lot and depend on my autopots to continue feeding while I’m gone. I have seen times when your lines can clog even with the best nutrients and additives. If it hasn’t happened to you yet, I can almost guarantee you it will eventually through no real fault of the grower. It’s just that it doesn’t take much to clog that small of a line. So for me switching out my lines every couple weeks with a clean set takes all of 5 minutes, 10 if I do the greenhouse at the same time. If that keeps my babies happy while I’m gone for a week or two that’s great.

I gotcha. To each his own my friend. I think we all find a way that fits what we like to do and those processes fit with how much time we might have or just found routines that work best.

I think as long as everyone grower is happy throughout, all is good! I know we all like to debate which might be best, but sometimes best it not always what we really want. I know that DWC will give me more yield, but I have done that and that is way too time consuming for me. Some guys swear by it!

I go grows where I hand water the whole time and I don't even use the res. Sometimes I set the system up for a two weeks feed and leave it just to see if it can handle it. I really have started to play around with different ideas out of boredom and curiosity alike I guess.
