New Grower Cloning Autos

Cloning is definitely possible with all autoflowering varties and is not "hard". It's commonly done to breed autoflowers and stabilize genetics. It's not a viable option for anybody who is growing them for the yield as all existing clones will be the same "age" as the mother. When the mother goes into flowering, the clones will go into flowering. Autoflowers are designed to run on an internal biological clock, very debatable: from what I've read the autoflowers begin flowering once they reach a certain size and certain hormones and proteins send a signal to the plant to induce flowering, with photoperiodic plants this "gene" or system in a sense (not sure which, not sure if either) is not there and plants are induced to flower through light cycle changes.

This has been asked many many times before. Clones will generally show very little vegetative growth and begin flowering short after their root system has developed.

Cloning autoflowers is the same as cloning any other Cannabis plant, whether its a photo plant or an autoflower. It's not any harder. The issue is in the end it's not worth it at all or advisable to do so.

Cheers.

Dam dab cool thread. I use to re veg photos but I saw uncle si (now known as duck commander) re veg a auto after he chopped it. Kinda cool. Keep messing around with things and that's how we get new things. I said can't be done, I meant that it was never worth it when I tired in the beginning of my auto runs!

pretty much hit the nail on the head there , i was gunna say pretty much the same but in short form lol

you can clone an auto , but your going to stunt both the clone and the plant it was taken from , so why bother

a long growing/flowering sativa dom super auto is a bit different and lower branches could possibly benefit from being clones as they werent gunna be productive anyway and get a chance at being the main plant instead of a bottom branch , but thats a sativa dom auto that takes a long time , a 60 day auto would be pointless to clone

@ steele as for ruderalis being mexican ??? maybe some grow there , but typically ,,,,,,

its from cold climates with short seasons , Russia , Ukraine , and even Canada , it flowers due to age , knowing it doesnt have long to reproduce/flower , not lack of water

peace

Yea its just strain sensitive I think ..one that are more photo sensitive my be better candidates for that stuff...Looks like skunky got some good bud from his clones and not stunted ...If they are in veg on 8/8 cycle I dont see why you cant veg it till its the height you want...In theory,,I have only watched skunky do it and had a plant reveg on me after I chopped it..and Its still going 6months LOL Im making seeds with it now :P

You can't "veg it until the height you want" autoflowers are not designed this way. Light hours (photo-period) should not affect an autoflower at all what so ever unless you're flicking the lights constantly and it'll hermie, but that's another story, just wanted to make sure to clear that.

The only reason a autoflower will revert back to its vegetative state is because it is not a autoflower. There are many "fast finishing" strains that will finish faster than regular (photo) Cannabis. My guess regarding that thread you posted is that it vegged again because it was not properly bred or it was a mutation somewhere in the genetics that allowed the plant to be affected by the photo-period.

If you did that to a regular autoflower strain, took off all its buds and switched it to 8 hours of daylight, it would probably hermie and die.

Interesting theories though regardless.

Money Money Money

Good evening comerades, I promise i mean no disrespect by this comment and am certainly not a bread head or a dealer ,this is just a my thinking . People often grumble about seed prices but think about it disregarding the initial investment (grow tent lights etc) on average an auto seed we could say is around a fiver plus an electric bill of lets say 40£ so 45£ lets not count time as we could say it is a hobby, passion call it what you will personally it keeps me out of the pub for a few hours therefore saving a few bob we can get anything up to an oz per auto more for photos but lets say 1/2 oz at anything up to 10£ per gram for something remotely smokable plus maybe petrol refreshment not including messing about putting ourselves at risk with unscrupulous characters ( dealers kids and pigs) whilstwe lucky few can grow say 100£ worth of top quality herbage of our choice per plant its a 'no brainer' to me and i enjoy looking and choosing what we'd liketo try next which is discretely sent to us within a matter of days ( heartwarmingly we can now also donate a 'petit piece' as the French say to charity which i think is pretty cool, so personaly i dont mind paying these people for the service they provide , like i said no disrespect this is just this dudes opinion . Still loving this forum . HERBS BE WITH YOU and dope will get you through the times of no money better than money will get you through the times of no dope ( Fabulous furry freak brothers) festive complements to you all !!

Super auto's, there usually 120+ day strain They have a longer veg period and get massive 5,6 foot is not uncommon cloning these will give you time to veg longer...There's also is a special time in the beginning of a Photo/auto cross where you get these eggs that at 20/4 stay in veg but if you drop to 18/6 they start flowering, So with that you can still get a Photo veg And an auto finish when you want.......

The thread is re-opened and cleaned of non topic posts....please stay on topic.

Bickering over cloning is un-cool. post your results help the original poster. I dont want to see this thread reported again or it will be closed.
