Salutations everyone,

Well, given how broken the search engine appears to be at times i'll just risk my question without even knowing if this matter has been actually discussed on AFN before - but i'm about ready to bet it wasn't, ever...

Anyway, lets suppose a guy plans to launch some challenging comparative session with a wealthy plant on one side and another which has been contaminated with mites on purpose; the final objective being to evaluate an eradication method in hope it won't also tax the culture in the end, etc. A supply of live mites would be required for that sort of test, IMO!

:pop:

How long can they survive if a dozen webbed leaves is stacked inside an air-tight bag to be stored at 9 degrees Celcius in a refrigerator?

I don't suppose the leaves can suffice to sustain them in diapause indefinitely, so... How does one become a cannabic farmer who also happens to cultivate mites, i wonder!...

As always i'll welcome any pointers.

:peace:

Salutations Aunty Mossy,

Sorry, somehow i didn't see your reply before i checked my own threads today! In any case i wish to thank you for this fine attempt to break the ice... I suppose to an eventual reader it may not sound all that evident why i'd want to keep live spider mites around, as a matter of fact its not even evident to me what perspective is best to explain my reasoning.

M'well, one can't test an eradication method if there's nothing to eradicate i guess!

In any case, rest assured mite breeding ain't in my plans... Yet!

Just keep on growing with out preventing them. It will happen for ya. We all get them at one point. I brought one clone to my tent from a buddies and boom little faulkers were every where in a week! I assure you, you don't want them on a nice plant because they will beat that shit down! Test it outside too. The hell with cleaning all that shit inside your grow room! Since you wanna play with bugs so bad, hahaha. Go get some ladybugs!
Cheers bro!

Salutations Guerrilla,

I assure you, you don't want them on a nice plant...

Quite correct as i've witnessed a few Borg invasions already and hence i can't but concur with such well advised opinion - though this may help to understand the present context, actually:That's not a thread i've initiated myself but there are some hints provided over there, photographs for starters!...
