newb here, with questions after a couple months into first lowryder grow in a unique-hydroponics 3 ft stealth box. Seems odd, but I need less growth!

Just before flower, about 6 weeks in, my plant took off and filled the cabinet - with the top finally pressing itself flat into the led - letting it run its course, but though I would try to learn for next time!

- with autos, can I still trigger flowering via light? Wondering if this would be my best bet to control height by triggering before it gets too tall?
- I was running 20 on 4 off - would actually dialing back light time be a better way to control growth - to hold it back?
- can I prune back down at any time pre-flower?
- growing hydro and the stem is very thick, safe to cut down a couple nodes in a thick stem, or really only safe to prune at new growth during veg?

I will experiment, but thought there might be some lessons already learned out there?

Thanks for any help!

To control height, I believe FIMing at day 14 helps, supercropping later in the growth, and you can use string to pull down tall buds. Or try lower varieties (Auto pineapple and Dark Devil are usually small plants).

Can't trigger flowering with light with autos.

Pruning will slow growth and lower yield---better to pull the buds down.

You have just learned that autos can get as big as non-autos.
You need a bigger tent, or select only dwarf autos.
Mine outgrew a 6 ft 11' tall tent.

i just find wire and a lot of tieing down will help massively...i believe temperature and light intensity will also help (if your lights arent powerful enough it will keep stretching)...but some good wiring to pin it down and get some horizontal growth would help :)

This how I do it . :smoking:

I've heard the best way is to stunt them in a small pot. I've talked to a few people on here with some really nice yields off of well trained very small potted plants. Also small varieties help alot as well With added lst, topping, and fimming. I'm doing a few micro grows myself kinda feeling my way through things.Sp far my best results were on the ones I ran 18/6 for about a week then flipped to 12/12 also Fed them on the heavier side and it pushed them into flowering a bit earlier. I also always keep my lights as close as I can with out damage if worried about space. Any pics would love to see the set up? Hope my reply helps.

Yes small pots will work, also being very light on feeding helps them stay smaller, keeping the light a bit close will keep them from stretching, but if the leaves taco, it's too close, and lst all the way up until flower will keep it short, also to keep the stretch in flower short, introduce your bloom nutes early, during the preflower stage, it'll slow stretch and go right into flower production but you will sacrifice yield doing so. Good luck and tag me with any ? If you'd like.
:pass:

Also, you said you were growing hydro, maybe consider soil, or a soiless medium, hydro increases growth speed exponentially. You can prune or top all the way to preflower, but once again, yield usually will be affected, not always though.
