Just got my critical jack auto (dinafem), cheese auto (dinafem), and blueberry auto (DP), and a few freebies today. I'm setting up my stealth grow box as we speak so I can get started, when I came across a thought that I cannot find a definitive answer for.

Fox farm trio or AN trio?

Now I know this has been answered by tons of people all over every marijuana forum there is, and everyone always gets into arguments about it with no definitive answer.

I'm going to be using FFOF, which makes me think "just stick with FF products". But then I think "well AN is a KNOWN best for MJ grows". But the AN grow, micro, bloom is there cheapest alternative, which is why I don't know which would be of better quality for my plants, the FF or AN trio?

AND I wanted to use Big Bud, and ancient earth also as additives, which then pushes me back towards getting the AN products.

As you can see, I'm pretty uncertain and could really use ANY advice.

I'd really just like to keep my grows simple, which is why picking nutrients is so hard when you have so much to choose from.

Again, thanks for any and all help! And I'll be posting a journal for my first grow as well as my "how to" on how I made my grow box out of an old dresser

I don't understand the differance between organic and inorganic. I know that inorganics kill the benificial microbes the organics provide, but why do I need beneficial microbes in the soil if I'm supplementing with stuff like big bud and fulvic/humid acid? I'm losing the benefits of the microbes but gaining the benefits of the supplements? So honestly what's the difference?
And that's an actual question haha

in nature plants get nutes from naturally decomposing organic matter thereby creating safe nutrients naturally and many threads discuss using mollasses etc to boost this nature power

Ehh. I could play devils advocate here and say that I'd rather use a nute chemically designed to do the EXACT "natural" process I want without the uncertainties of nature, but I don't know enough about organics to really make an argument. I'm going to look into AN's organics, and maybe some BMO stuff.

If you have any good links to an organic grow or a good post about the Benifits of using organics feel free to post em!

Here's another question plenty of people have posted about that I just have not gotten a difinitive answer to. Can I germ straight into FFOF, or is the soil to hot?

Either way I was going to mix the OF with sphagnum/peat moss and pearlite at a ratio of 3:2:1, so even if it was hot that should be enough to dilute it to safe levels

I did it my first two grows they grew but I believe they were stunted not a lot but I only got like 8in tall girls not bad but can do better if you go with light warior to start then in 3 to 4 weeks time have it reach th ffof...and you get taller plants :2cents:

Fox farm products are hard to come by in my area, and even ordering the OF soil cost a bunch of money in shipping. Which is why doing a 70/30 OF to LW would be hard for me. I'd be spending more on soil then I would be on nutes! Which is why getting LW soil too is kinda out of the question for this grow, especially since I'm still buying stuff to assemble my
Stealth dresser.

So I'm limited to what I've got now and what I can get at homedepot. Maybe fill my pots with OF, then scoop a big handful out of the middle and fill it with just straight sphagnum/peat moss so the seed can start in a neutral envirnment and grow out towards the OF soil as it grows? Or would the nutrients just leech into the center when I watered?

Damn, I though growing was gonna be simple, it's turning out to be a bitch! Haha

I have the same problem I found this at home depote its done well and i havent had problems starting rite in it.......
