My father, Epenguin Snr, has for many years been a champion plant grower with cups and medals a plenty. So when I asked for his help with my first foray into horticulture (ahem) he was quite cool about it. I was out of hospital within a month.
Once I got started with a paper towel, dish and seeds, he couldn't keep away. "I will mix you up a good compost...etc" + " I have some pots here that you could use .." Bless him, he is 84!
Any way, back to the Ferts. What you got pop ? "I always use CHEMPAK" he said. So, to keep costs down I use what he always used as there was plenty in the greenhouse. Its dirt cheap compared to many of the nutes I have seen in these forums. So, for your info, our plant food, which we get the worker Meerkats to feed to the little girlies, is ;
*For veg : Chempak No 4 High Potash 15 15 30 +TE oops BLOOM
*For Bloom: Chempak No 2 High Nitrogen 25 15 15 +TE oops VEG
It is a blue crystal powder that the meekats dilute and is very cost effective. Seems to be working a treat so far.
