I have been reading here that prefertilized soil is no good , now this is where my problem lies , it is all I can get , so what can I do to fix the soil , would running heaps of water in the pots with the soil in it to flush the ferts out work ? , To get earth soil of any quality is a long way a way , Distance is my main problem I can just go to a big garden store to get good dirt as it is 4 hour drive away and our little hardware store carry's very little stock in the way of soil , :dunno:

do you have bunnings near by?
they sell coco which can be flushed or use a seed raising mix as it will be light on the ferts.

Osmacoates do a good seed mix which is sold at bunnings also. you can add nutes as required

If you can get sphagnum peat moss, perlite and garden or dolomite lime you can make your own soil less mix very easily. These are all pretty common and may be available locally.

Flushing won't remove all of those nutrients. Usually they are time release pellets made to work over 90 days or so.
