I have nute burn leaves i want to trim off the nute burn, also is it more beneficial to trim fan leaves to allow bud sites more light? or big fan leaves are still solar pannels so dont touch? also, is it too late to cut off the very bottom bud sites where the light doesnt reach to let the plant put energy up top? or will it do that alone? and better to leave plant alone so i dont stress and stunt more than the nute burn already >.<

any TDS guidelines for autos?!

I have flushed since previous feeding which i realized was simply too much for a young plant, i will do half strength next feeding idk whenever the pot nexts light, i want to dry that bitch out to rule out root rot problems....

Hi nonfiction - Welcome to AFN! :)

:welcome: :welcome: :welcome:

Glad you decided to join us!

The general accepted advice is not to defoliate autos as the time they spend repairing is time they are not growing. Some people get results from it, but i think it's strain dependant and wouldn't advise at and personally don't defoliate.

I don't touch the popcorn buds either. The most i do to an auto is LST (low stress trainging) to make an even canopy.

That's just my 2 cents :)

Hey, why not pop up a hello over at introductions for a nice warm welcome from our members!

Welcome nonfiction! As Blue said, most or almost all agree to leave the leaves lol, even if a bit burned. The burn won't spread itself to other leaves, but that doesn't mean it can't become more burned hehe, make sense? A few people do defoilate autos, but I think this is not right. I even tried it on several plants, just as an experiment to say I tried it lol, and those plants were stressed out and didn't make as much bud. Here's the important thing, around abouts late flowering stage, the plants will begin consuming the nutrients and energy stored in the leaves, from bottom set up to the top leaves. As they are being consumed, the plant takes those nutrients and energy to make it's final flower mass, and this turns the leaves yellow and then brown until dead. Then you can pull the yellow-brown leaf off, it's spent then. If the leaves are gone to defoilation, an auto doesn't have the time, energy, or programming to be growing out more and more leaves to use up later. So it then has to just use whatever the roots can provide, which is fine, but it would rather do that plus have leaves to consume also :) It usually just results in a lower yield, not any huge problems. :) What a lot of people do is just find a creative way to tuck the fan leaves out of line of light to bud sites, this is different with each plant, just gotta practice a little, they don't seem to mind too much :)

That post was way too long lol sorry

thanks guys, so general consensus is when the leaves are very easily to 'pull/fall' off it's okay? if not, LITFA! okay! thanks! I don't think I can LST this one plant any more, so the bottom is always going to be shitty,

I do have Think Different seeds started and theyre just starttig veg now, what's the earliest i can LST? I have loose stem, not stiff, I was going to start spiraling one of the stems around the pot hoping it would stretch and grow up before flowering starts, i did it once with an outdoor plant and it was so sick, most even canopy even though it didn't matter >.< it was more so topped (injured my outdoor bugs or something birds) early not bent, but these stems are weak so i figured it's prob not eva too early to lst? i mean they do use some energy to position self once LST started but whatever, ive been rotating more too, and was told against that >.> so idk im just going with the flowww
