Extraction Decarbing temp for rosin

@Mañ'O'Green @lunarman @Simplicio @Root @archie gemmill not sure if I forgot anybody but I just ordered my lift can't wait, literally it said 2-3 weeks for delivery so going to try the rosin plate decarb in coconut oil. Need to make 1/4 cup of oil for my gummies, can I just put 1/4 cup of oil in with 1g-1.5g of rosin on 250 for 30 mins or 2hrs like my mbm? I feel like 30 mins is correct just because 2hrs would then be decarbing cbd or just burning it all off right? The lift will be a fun toy, but want to make some gummies Thursday. Let me here your comments...

the mbm is doing 2 or 3 things at once(mixing/agitating trichs to fall off and heating, decarbing).as you working with an allready extracted concentrate rather than it still being on the bud,i dont think there is a need to mix with oil and cook for 2 hours.
me not being medical and 97% eejit i just go for the thc bit,but if a more full spectrum effects where wanted perhaps the long soak is the way to go ?
in theory any longer heating/cooking than needed 252 @ 27mins will start to degrade.

This chart was done by some Russian scientists doing a hexane extraction but is pretty much the golden rule for decarbing. If you go past the peak on the cart you will start losing components. 252°F for 27 minutes is the target. Decarb with an equal weight of rosin/oil. Small volumes will heat and cool faster making a better product.

I agree with ya there accept the decarbing. Mbm doesn't decarb!!!! They will tell you that, infact I bought there decarb box as well. But with the lift coming won't use it. With that said if I need to decarb in a oven, I will use the decarb box. It gave me a digital temp of inside the box so I could turn oven up/down as needed. Nice for $35 but lift is the best personal decarboxylator. Mbm was more for smell, but as I thought about it rosin wont stink like bud would. Most i dont think would know what it was. Plus I can just put plate in grow area where I have my tent. I have a phresh filter inside tent, and outside in room. So can just turn on filter to take smell out. But if I was going to make a large batch, I can decarb rosin in lift then put in mbm to make like 2 cups of oil so don't need giant beaker. Just trying different stuff to see which work most efficiently.

In-oil decarb is completely different from in-air decarb.
250 F for 30 min works well in air, but will fail in oil. I ruined herb a few years ago trying this.
Those long cook MBM recipes, like Sage's Low&Slow, aren't very potent, according to my testing.

Decarb time & temps are well established through lab testing. Both 250 F for 30 min and 240 F for 40 min are optimal and popular. Ardent Lift is best of all.
But the best way to make perfectly decarbed herb digestible hasn't undergone the same testing, and how much thc actually gets into the blood stream depends on this a lot.
The best method I've seen for doing this so far is to cook decarbed herb into oil, along with some lecithin @ 220 F for 20 min. Longer over-decarbs.
The MBM cooking oil recipe recommends 160 F for 1 hr, which I've never tried, but sounds like it should work well.
Many MBM users do 160 F for 4 hr, but my trials doing that make me worry about over-decarbing.

So, are you saying 252 for 27 mins on rosin plate won't work? I just did some dabs can't make out what you telling us, can you explain simpler lol?

I trust what you say and will do equal weights, but I have to ask if I put 1/4 cup oil with 1.5 grams of rosin will it not work, take longer, not be as strong? Just the cat in me to question lol.

Of course it will work but how long will it take to get it up to heat and then cool back off? All heat that needs to be accounted for in your process so that you do not over decarb.

Ok, makes sense. So put on rosin plate at 252, once it get to temp start timer for 27 mins. Then take off and cool, should i put in frig or leave at room temp?

250 for 30 min should work in air with any decent heat source.
Sorry for the confusion. I was trying to warn about in-oil decarb.
