Extraction Decarbing temp for rosin

Ok, makes sense. So put on rosin plate at 252, once it get to temp start timer for 27 mins. Then take off and cool, should i put in frig or leave at room temp?
Just mix it into the rest of your oil to make the gummy bears.

My concern was a gram of oil ain't gonna be a lot and both may not cover bottom. So was afraid it may burn, but if a 1/4 cup was in no worries with that amount. Also will the rosin oil then absorb into the rest just by mixing. I didn't want some to be to strong in spots and weak in other spots. I am using DP Durban Posin auto which, well mine is giving about 10% yield. I just want to make sure these work. Got a few guys that want me to make for them so don't want to give them stuff that don't work lol. I am looking at a month before my lift will be here and used, don't want to waste the goods hahaha. Thanks for all the info. That's what makes this place what it is!

Are you using these little beakers?

@Mañ'O'Green I needed to put it to lime 342 to get it to temp. Had my digital thermometer in it. Had a little bit more oil in it than will with rosin, will that effect temp or time? I thought time. Didn't think I would have to set it that much higher to get to temp, is yours like that?

McDee it is all about the thermal mass of the container you use. It is why I keep harping about the mini-beakers and small amount of rosin/oil. No I set my plates (top and bottom) to 253.4°F 123°C. It takes 3 minutes to reach temp. Your digital probe may need to be immersed deeper to get an accurate reading also?

Ya, I didn't think the beaker would take so long an so much. I started with measuring cup but to thick, was taking forever. I am using a digital probe and laser thermometer both are within a a few degrees. Thought it may not be reading correct, so I tilted so oil went to 1 side covered probe completely and reading was the same. Going to see when I star with beaker and see if it is any faster. I guess all that matters is the oil get to the correct temp in the end tho.

No............. it is TIME plus TEMPERATURE to make the best product possible. I feel like I am getting frustrated so this is my last comment on the subject.
