Hey everyone

This will be my second growlog on the AFN and the first one to complete. As many others I kept seeing that Mephisto name pop up everywhere on this forum. I read the story behind the company, saw Mitch answer forum questions, read about the genetics and how the company does it's thing. I'm impressed by the love to what those guys do and how they do it. I like that. I like that a lot :worship:

I wrote Mitch some time ago asking some questions on a sunday afternoon. Half an hour later or something like that I had a reply. Decisions were made and ordered. Order received 4 days later and could have been a day earlier. The post office located somewhere in the mountains was closed Monday so the beans were shipped Tuesday and received Thursday loaded with extra stuff. What's not to like?

Well, here I am a couple of months later and I can finally get these things going. I had a couple of photoperiods that had to finish first and they have, almost. One of them keeps going and going far beyond expected. That ended up with me having a germinated DBC and nowhere to put it. It went under 12/12 for the first 17 days and is now doing 20/4 for the past 3 days along with a sister who has her day 1 today. This log will contain 2 Deep Blue C's from sprout to harvest in 2 different soils.

The setup:

Light:
Vipar 450W/5W LED running 20/4

Growmedium:
1 10l Airpot with Biobizz Lightmix added 6 tablespoons of gardening lime and 1½ tablespoon of Epsom Salt
1 10l Airpot with an unknown premixed soil added 6 tablespoons of gardening lime and 1½ tablespoon Epsom Salt

Nutrients:
Biobizz Grow
Biobizz Bloom
Advanced Nutrients Overdrive (not sure if I will use this yet)
Nothing more, nothing less

From now on the 2 little ones will be named DBC#1 and DBC#2

DBC#1 is the oldest one in unknown premixed soil and I have no clue what's in it and how much. One thing I do know, is that it's an ok soil. I have used it before with great results with photoperiods. She has had tapwater for her first 15 days and had her first feed with 1ml/l Biobizz grow 4 days ago. It seems like she liked it along with 20/4 lightperiod instead of 12/12. She started to grow a lot faster. Today she is 10cm.
:woohoo:

DBC#2 showed her head today. She is in the Biobizz lightmix and will be having tapwater for her first 10 days or so. Time will tell.

Both germinated by going 24 hours in a glass of water and directly in to the soil. DBC#1 was up within 2 days and DBC#2 spent 3 days in the soil before she showed herself. She is so tiny, but I'm sure she will catch up in no time.

I will update this thread at least once a week or if something interesting happens. I hope I didn't forget anything. If so, please tell me :thanks:

Best of luck to everyone and their grows, including me, myself and I :pass:

Good luck mr k!

It will be interesting to see how 1 and 2 compare, we for one like to give as many hours as we can during the first couple of weeks but she looks nice!

All the best, Mitch

Time to manipulate :greenthumb:

Had a look at those babygirls this morning. DBC#1 is doing great. That great that I decided to manipulate her a bit to open up for the lower growth to catch up with the upper. Forgot pictures before i did some leaf rearrangement, but she was looking beautiful. She still is, but kinda funny, because of the training and her ninja style. It feels great to finally have this one going. I'm excited about this strain. Lots of nice reports on her and also that Mephisto magic going on in here. It's almost a religious thing

She is still on low nutes. 1ml/l Biobizz Grow, nothing else. I will go easy on her as I'm not sure how hot the soil is. She is absolutely fine until now. Enough of the talking. Here is DBC#1 at day 23/24 and has reached 15cm:

Lights are now at full power. I've been at 50% until now. Temperature is 24°C with a drop to 20°C with lights out. Humidity is 48%.

DBC#2 needs a kick in the balls (if she had any). Pardon my french. Nothing much to say about her till now, but she is small. I think a little small for her age, but hey. We are talking 4 days and maybe I need a little of patience. I do
Still on tap water and both just watered. That's why the soil looks a little wet. I've not used lightmix before, so I am little confused when to start giving her nutes. I think I will give her ½ml/l Biobizz Grow at the next watering in 3 or 4 days to get the soil ready for her takeoff. Since it's organic it takes some days before they are made available and we all know, that at a point she kicks in. When she does, she will need that stuff.

DBC#2

Thanks Mitch, I wish that they were in the same soil. That would have made the test fair. I really didn't have an option to give her more light in the beginning, but I agree, she did just fine and the only reaction from getting 8 hours light more a day is more growth. She doesn't care. I was prepared for a little confusion from her, but nothing happened in the wrong direction :cool1:
