Hey there! :D .. You'll probably get a mixed bag of replies! ^_^
I'd say do the "leaf tucking" thing instead .. but some people just lurrrve to chop!

Thanks, I’ve tucked as much as possible but now when I’ve tucked the larger leaves they’re blocking smaller bud sites lol

if the plant was topped and trained i would say remove a few but with how far you are into flower i would just leave it how it is
what lights nutes and medium are you using ?

Never topped this one, I’m using biobizz all mix (too hot I know lol) and I’ve just been using the biobizz nute line at just under half recommended dose

She looks quite light in colour aswel, maybe a deficiency? Especially next to the banana blaze

Yeah, either Nitrogen Def (from the half feeds) or Lockout caused by PH drift.

I'd use Biobizz Lightmix in future (it's very cheap), and if you've got space to run an autopot, you only really have to worry about getting a decent 20 day start, and then it does the work for you. (although you cant used Biobizz nutes in the rez ,, they'll gunk it up - better switch to Canna Vega, and Canna Flores 1 part nutes for simplicity)

I like to keep it super simple! I'm done with science labs

I am a cabinet grower (12"x15" footprint) and always do heavy defol. (whether I want to or not) because it's required to expose bud sites. My view is that once you are in mid-flower, most strains can take heavy defol. without much impact on yield. I would err on the side of exposing bud sites to light/air over keeping leaves, especially fan leaves. Veg and early flower is different story. FWIW, I attached a pic of my current grow - I am at day 51 on a Sour Stomper and have been taking off approx. 5 -8 leaves per day since day 40.

Also, I agree your leaves look light - I would consider changing your feeding regime but at day 49 you may be too far down the road to make much difference. IMHO, YMMV, etc.

The buds do not create the energy for them to grow. It is the leaves on the plant that makes the energy to grow. If you have enough leaves on the plant the buds will grow no matter where they are even totally shaded inside the plant. I have demonstrated this in many grows.

I only defoliate for air flow to help prevent Molds and Mildews in the lower part of the plant.
