Hello I'm going to be drying in my tent with the paper bag method and my tents in the garage with the lights off its in the 60 HR area but I got a dehumidifier today so that's in there now. But when I come to dry the buds should I leave the dehumidifier in there or put it outside the tent. Don't want to dry my buds really quickly..

Yeah I wouldn't use it bro, inside or out, if that's the RH in your drying area.
Its a good ambient RH to have, of course when you put your weed in there it will go up.
Then its a matter of waiting the number of days to RH, ie if 70% rh = 7 days + 1 for luck, if 60 = 6 days +1 etc.. but your temps will also affect that, above 75F and it can dry quicker, below 65F longer. Its all about the Temps and RH in your area, tent and outside.
that's how I do it anyway. brown bags and extraction & oscillating fan still blowing at the bags in a hanging basket,,my ambient rh is 60%, Temps 70F, and always takes 7 days before I can start the curing process. My green is normally about 60% by that stage, I then seal them up in tuppperware boxes, still in brown bags,,,then i put one of those mini RH meters in, and check every now and then,
IF RH goes up above 70% then I bung in a bag again, all in same bag, and pop it back in me drying tent until the RH goes back down.
Then back in boxes, after a good shake etc..
And repeat the process until the RH doesn't get any higher then 60%,,,,if 60% I leave lid on and only open the lid to burp occasionally.
Its a good idea but I would of thought it might lower the RH and your buds 'might' dry out quicker.
Never known anyone who has tried that tho, so would be interesting to see if others have tried the same with good success.

I use these, mini digital RH Temp meters, got loads of them, theyre a godsave they really are, you can really get accurate with your drying/curing with those

plus I also use a wicked little thermometer with 2m probes, one RH and one for Temp, I stick the RH probe actually into a brown bag with my buds, the Temp probe just hangs in halfway up the tent, and the meter sticks on outside my tent, so I don't have to keep opening it to check, I just look at the RH display. Nice n easy and not stinky. lol cos open that tent and BAM!

its all about having the tech to make 'ones' growing life easier eh? love it. The old school ways are old school now. lol. gotta keep up with the times & the new tech these days and if you cant buy it,. make it,,like these thermometers, we had them specially made in china for us.
Hence them being blue and not the common black, what a stupid colour to make a therm anyway, black soaks heat. Plus blue stands out more for easy reading with stoned eyes. :baked:

That's pretty cool! Well I have a question for you my HR is around 60 and I'm in flower I want to get it down to 40 % where abouts should I put my dehumidifier in the grow tent? I'm paranoid about mold see

I would just add a fan mate, blowing right at the middle of the plants, where four nugs come off the main stalk right just below the main cola, iv always had crapping mould start there, not now tho, I stick the RH probe right in the middle of the thing.
Add a fan, and watch the RH drop. its as easy as that bro.
But if I really felt the need to add a De-humidifier, because the tent floor was cold and condensating, then I would put it in the middle of the area. not by the intake as it will just 'dehumdify' the cold air coming in and not your area.

I've got 3 fans in there and the hr isnt lowering. Think I'll put a dehumidifier in the middle then. O had a bit of mold on my last grow and cant be arsed with it on this lol thanks ks for all the info man!

All the experts say no brown bag, it can impart a flavor and smell to your herb. Just hang dry over about a 6 to 7 day period drying to fast can lock in that chlorophyll flavor and cause buds not to burn right. Then put into glass jars and "burp" them regularly. Definitely get some little humidistats to go in your jars to monitor % never had an issue with mold doing it this way, best of luck.
