Hey guys i was looking into getting one for my next grow but had a few questions first..

If i grow in a tent that is inside of my bedroom for it to be most effective do i need to put the dehumidifier inside the tent or as long as its in the same room should it be just as effective?

Also i know some say they remove up to 70 pints of moisture per day and others say 30 pints per day. Do the ones that remove more moisture work better and faster or do they just simply have a bigger water tank so at the end of the day they can remove more?

only thing i can say is they will add to your temps and that running in the room your tent is in will in fact help as thats where the tent is getting its air from , unless you pump air in from outside

due to heat i wouldnt want one right in my tent , a grow buddy of mine put one in his room a week or so ago and his temps shot up from low 80's to 105 , 6 inch air extraction run through the air cooled tube/reflector

Semi related question, has anyone took a ppm and pH reading on dehumidifier water? Or knows whether it's OK for our plants?

The heat is coming and I'll be using it throughout my house in general.

quality of and internal components play a big role in the water coming out , yes it is distilled so to speak , but many dehumidifiers have a lot of metal components which make for water with a lot of heavy metals you may not want , always a good idea to take some in for proper testing

p.s. without testing it i can say my mom when she was young enough still used to garden a lot and used the water from her dehumidifier with great results , other then that water her gardens were always fed organically though , so mabey those metals would of been lacking otherwise ???

A humidifier that is capable of removing more water from the air has a larger refrigeration coil. My 6 plants are drinking about a gallon a day (see: https://www.autoflower.org/f44/first-timer-33036.html). Good luck!

What I meant to say earlier is, I'd buy a dehumidifier that removes whatever amt. of moisture your plants will produce. My experience is limited but running hydro with 6 Fast Bud Auto and I'm using about a gal a day to water my plants. There are people here who can probably help you determine how much water you'll use depending on your setup. If you have choices get something that will run efficiently, not too big not too small.

Also the dehumidifer is like an air conditioner it changes the temp of air to extract moisture. It will really heat your bedroom so you'd also probably benefit from a room air conditioner. I'd get a room airconditioner first to see if you can remove any excess humidity with that first.
