just wondering what peoples past experiences are

Cannabis usually gives me an attitude adjustment...

That's a great way to put it. I think weed causes us to face things inside ourselves that we might have suppressed, or in denial about. Maybe did something wrong to someone, harbor ill will toward someone, etc. In me, that stuff will come to mind when I'm high.

That's why I think some people say they don't like weed "because of how it makes me feel." I think they had that kind of self awareness and didn't want to deal with it, leading to feelings of anxiety, paranoia, etc. I know people like that. They're nice. But, I think of them as not being as true to themselves as they could be. That they ran from something about themselves instead of embracing their "dark side" and incorporating it more consciously.

To me, it's almost like the opposite of alcohol. I feel like drinking makes those feelings go away (only to feel worse later). Weed puts those feelings in your face (in a mental condition that can more easily process them). Whether it's a bad or good feeling depends on what the smoker is willing to do with it.
