Did I stunt them?

I am confused by this. Reason for the title of this thread is how slow this are growing. I have never grow in coco. Soil has nutrients and the plants grow much faster. Where do the plants get any building materials to work with? Did I stunt them ? Guess time will tell
It's not too late. They can recover from this if you can get this sorted out.

I turned on the auto pots.the EC is 1630 and PPM of 817 I don’t really understand these things yet. Both plants are showing new growth. My fingers are crossed
How do we adjust these numbers? I found one small mention cal-mag , but haven’t found the information on how and what to do

When I used AutoPots, I started the bottom feeding with the very first feeding, at about 10 day. If you need to feed before then, I say just manually bottom feed. Seedlings in nature/soil have no problem with soil below being much more wet than up top. I see no reason to top feed when you want the roots to grow down.
@BII
How did those Autopots work out for you? I am on the fence with them or drip irrigation. The simplicity of the Autopots is really appealing to me.

Ok let me try to give you a crash course. For autoflower seedlings you want to feed them 300-400 ppm every time you water. You also need to ph the solution with ph up or ph down.
Your runnoff ppm should be within 200 ppm of whatever your putting in.
If it is higher than what your putting in by 200 ppm then you need to feed more often or lower the dosage. That means you have salts building up in your coco.
If the ppm/EC is lower than what your putting in this could mean you need to up the dosage. :toke: :pighug::coffee2:

Edit i put more instead of less :face:Sorry about that. Doh

Ok so this is my first time growing with coco coir. I’ve done plenty of research. Most people say to water seedlings everyday, but auto pots tell me not to water so the roots will grow downward. I have been spraying the top every other day with a very little amount of water.
Yesterday I noticed some yellowing. I decided to get them a light dose of cal-mag. This morning there was more yellowing and droopy leaves.

My coco is mixed with perlite and earthworm castings. My light ( MARS TSL 2000 ) is set at 30% and 8 inches above the seedlings. The coco didn’t dry up at all last night

I can only assume the yellowing is from under watering due to the auto pot suggestion.

I’m a bit lost as to what to do. I don’t want to pull them and hoping for recovery.
All in all I e never had seeds grow so slowly, nor can I remember ever seeing this with seedlings.

Any advice would be helpful and appreciated
I would back that light off to atleast 12 inches..
To be honest they look fine to me at 8-10 days. You just gotta be patient with seedlings.

The light is at 30% I did raise it a few inches last night, but I will take it to 12 inches
Thank you
And some pics of last summer’s auto flowers outdoors

So to adjust the PPM do I just add more water to dilute? I used 8 gallons of distilled water and 4.4 of gased off tap water
Edit:
Found a video telling how to lower and raise PPM . I will dilute and find 200PPM

Coco is the best medium for autopots. Hand feed every day from sprout until the leaves reach the edge of pot. Make sure pot is completely soaked and runoff is finished right before you turn the pot on. It’s usually around day 15 for me when leaves hit the edge of pot and plants are ready for the pot. You can feed lightly if you want, I prefer an EC of 1.8-2 and DLI around 35 at sprout, every environment is different. Be patient, the first 20 days are tough lol

A contrary view from a lazy grower: When I used AutoPots, after a 1-2 grows with automatic feeding I simply fed them fully manually (filled the trays several times/day). I disliked the added complexity and work, particularly having to care for a reservoir (which you'll need to learn soon enough), with something less than optimal seemingly always happening with it and the plumbing. And I presume it's simply best to feed freshly diluted nutrients vs. storing in a reservoir. You may well find yourself spending more time/effort dealing with the reservoir and plumbing as with your plants. In my view, with manual feeding I was giving them a wider media wet-dry range (better; more time when the tray was empty) compared to the AutoPot's wet to less wet cycling. I saw no difference between these grows and my and online grows with full automatic feeding.

Otherwise, as a grower new to coco (hydro vs. soil), I suggest you should learn from experience how to best water/feed your plants vs. leaving it to a dumb float valve. Excellent instructions about manual watering are repeatedly posted on AFN, and should be findable (if someone doesn't post or link to them here for you).
