Be nice to a rookie grower :P, this is my first ever indoor grow and first time posting on this forum. Both plants have grown entirely different, and i just wanted to get some more expert opinions on my setup. I had both these girls under 18/6 for 30 days ( flowering period began at day 20 from seed ). i decided to switch them to 12/12 at day 30 (yes i know autoflowers do not rely on photoperiods) to see what happened. they seemed to like the 12/12 light cycle due to an increase in flower production. was this the right move? should i put them back on 18/6?

thanks in advance for any replys! keep on croppin'

ill switch it back right noww! thanks for the quick response, ill go check out your girls

Welcome to AFN. It looks like you're off to a pretty good start. I would suggest you switch your lights to either 18/6 or 20/4. You'll see an increase in bud production with the longer hours of light. Also, you can probably more the lights closer to the plants. They look a bit stretched. Ideally you want to keep the node spacing, the spacing between leaf sets, at about 1". Those lights don't give off a lot heat so you can get them pretty close to the plants.

I'm also wondering if your soil mix might be a bit hot. I see some yellowing on the leaf tips, which usually indicated overfeeding. But since you haven't used any nutrients, it's probably from the soil being high in nutes. Next grow you may want to use a different brand of mix in some peat moss to cut that mix a bit.

i had the lights about 4" above the planets for a few days which is what the yellowing on the leaf tips was caused by, maybe keep the lights at aboout 6" or 8"?

If the burned tips are only on the top leaves, then it could have been from the lights being too close. Hard to tell in the pics, but I thought I saw some on the lower leaves as well. If so, then it wouldn't be from the lights. Yes, lower them as close as you can without burning the plants.

Good looking plant bro!!!

these girls have been stinkin up the place since about day 20, a pungent almost cheesy kind of smell. and thanks! there looking pretty good for only being under 4 T5 lamps
