New Grower Digital Curing Cap for Regular and Wide Mouth Mason Jars

These lids look great, but i always like to save a few quid/bucks so i looked for the hygrometer units used in these lids online.

The hygrometer/Thermometer units in these jar lids are £1.00 GBP (approx $1.65 USD) each plus postage and packing.

I ordered 5 and with postage and packing the total came to £13 GBP ($21.43 USD approx) downside it will take a couple of week to arrive, but I got plenty of time before my next crop is ready to go into jars.

With a little DIY (a power drill & hole saw attachment) plus some glue, I'll be good to go for a fraction of the price.

I hope this is of interest to anyone who likes a little DIY.

I'm very into DIY but this one's so cheap I figure it wasn't worth the work lol! Still, its a godo DIY project.

Mine came in yesterday. Well made, looks home made though the quality looks good. It is in Fahrenheit scale for temps and it is in the lid. It was well packed and shipped quickly.
I looked all over and could not find a digital one for under $8.00 and all in centigrade. I did however purchase 5 of the analog types from China. It will be cool to see what I can do. I'll be sure let you know. Next time I break out the photography gear I'll get a picture of this one for you.

Hi wwwillie I just had look and found the same temp/hygrometer in fahrenheit for $3.50 plus $2.32 shipping, you might find it cheaper but think due to Centigrade being a more popular worldwide temperature measurement is probably the reason why it cost more than the Centigrade vesion

I guess from seeing the actual cost of the digital meter from China I got my head ripped off at $10 a lid (wide mouth mason jar lid with gauge allready inserted) but even still they work fantastic and would buy more , still have price than what I paid for my digi 3 mini one i throw in the mason jars
