Dinafem Strawberry Cough In Supersoil

Thanks guys, I'm learning a lot already. I top dressed with some Hoof&Horn-NPK-17-0-0 because she is looking a little pale still, healthy, but hungry. Still getting used to the airpot and don't think I'll have to water for another few days at least, it's just the sides of the pot drying out I'm worried about, not good for the micro herd in there if it's all dried up. Anyone any advice on that?

Due to the past week watching the seedling, I ammended my soil that is sat cooking with an extra 60g of Hoof&Horn and 100g of bat guano. I've quickly learnt photo's need more than autos and the layer of Light Mix I planted into was probably not needed.

All a learning curve,

:Sharing One:

Dazed..

Watering an airpot is an learning experience. Prep more water than you think you need. I know 1ltr every 3 days is about right for my 10l pot, in my environment.
I prep 1.5l each time. I dump 500ml quickly over the top. You lose some out the sides, and it makes a mess! Leave it a few min then nurse the next litre slowly. Seems to do the trick.
Works for me!

Hey Dazed, she's looking good brother :gthumb:

I try to keep my soil moist. Not wet, but definitely not dry either. My thinking is if there is dry soil then there is no microbial activity going on at all where it is dry. Microbes need water. When I first started I would hear that I was watering too much, but I never had any signs of overwatering.

I think the drying out between waterings may be important when using bottled ferts but I don't believe this to be so with living soil mixes. Don't take this as gospel of course, I'm still learning, but it's what I have observed so far.

Smartest thing I have read all day. I constantly debate with people about the "supposed" wet/dry cycle. I think it is a load of manure that was designed to keep the newbie grower from over watering. I water daily, the key is to know the difference between moist and dripping wet.

Very intersting and some stella advice, truth is, I think I was overwatering...you know you get the feeling like; the pot says yes but the plant says no?! I know what I mean lllol.

I'm going to keep an eye on it more than usual, I'll keep you all posted. I think I've failed at TLO in the first week as I've had to top dress with some N rich HoofnHorn, but hey, she looks pretty sweet except the deep green, which I'm sure will come back.

Thanks for ALL the support and comments so far, this ride has only just started!

It's not a fail Dazed, just part of the learning curve! Onwards & upwards :)
