This is a crane drop ultrasonic modified with a 1/2" pvc hose pushed through the top exhaust hole of the unit, with the end of the hose fed through a hole in the reservoir. The foil is being used to block any light into from entering through the hose. I recommend getting a black hose.

You can add nutes into the res of this unit, which holds a little over a gallon but DO NOT exceed 600ppms. 500ppm's is pushing it, but it's working for me.

You MUST clean the reservoir of the unit after every use to prevent the growth of scum and to increase the life of the ceramic disc which creates the fog.

I add 29% h202 @ 1ml/gal to prevent any bacterial growth and mold but I still clean the unit once I refill it, which is once per day.

There is a dial for the fog setting. Using it on max will drain the res within a few hours, so prepare a backup refill in advance to make that process quicker.

The added humidity in the res will create micro root hairs that will absorb the moisture containing micro nutrients! Use a cool mist fogger only. This will keep the roots nicely misted and cool.

Using a fogger in this manner beats those "float" foggers that you place in your res, because those units get hot enough to raise your temps 10f+ degrees.

-Here is a 2 day difference in root growth after the fogger was added. Could be typical though. Just wanted to show the difference.

You could probably fit a hose like this to any ultrasonic fogger. Just make sure to follow these notes:

  • Do not exceed 600ppm
  • Use a cool mist fogger only
  • Use h202 @ 1ml/gal to keep res unit clean
  • Use a black hose
  • Make sure the unit has a ceramic disc. Anything else will deteriorate fast.
  • Happy fogging

This is excellent plus max rep. I've been interested in these fogger s for a while so I am buzzing with this grow. All the very best of luck.

Thanks for the love tang! :pimp: :smokebuds:

Hey, nice work

I made one of these a few years back and it produced beautiful white fuzzy roots with very fast growth. However this only lasted for around the first three weeks at which point everything became normal looking. My best guess is that the amount of fog i was providing could not sustain a bigger plant. Eitherway it was great for the veg period

Thanks for adding that bit of info in. That will be helpful to anyone that wants to experiment with this!
