Do organic nutes go bad (rancid) in hydro if they sit?

I use the hempy pot method. I use 1-4 ratio of perlite/vermiculite as my medium, it is technically hydro. Im super low on my AN Sensi nutes, but have a ton of Earth Juice nutes (grow/bloom/catilyst) that i use on my fruiting plants (tomato, strawberries, etc) in spring and summer. My concern is will they go rancid if they sit in the hempy "rez" for an extended time? Depending on the plant growth, sometimes they drink fast, sometimes its 1 time a week i have to water. I just dont want my nutes to go bad while they wait for the plant to uptake them. Or am i overthinking this process too much?

Thanks as alwasy UF

Yo UF,

I don't know the answer to this specific question. However, I am bumping it up to get more exposure.

Also, I am going down to the Soil store today, and the lady who owns it carrys the Earth juice brand and I will ask here a few questions about taht for you.

Peace,

Eek

UrbFarmer,

Okay so I got back from the soil store, got me worm castings in hand, next to the fireplace of course. And the lady says they don't go bad, no expiration date. What she sees from her customers on occasion, is they don't vigorously shake and stir the product from opening the top, to the bottom of the jug. Cuz then, it will get all syrupy and the ppm's will be off, basically causing more harm then good.

But I suppose you shake your jug well yes?

bfn,

Well as all my nutes (chem and earthjuice) i always shake before i measure and mix. Even with Earth Juice, when i measure it out to mix, there are specs (solids) that i would figure would need to be stirred up before you measure for the next batch of nutes to get an even measurement. But good looking out and thank you for asking for me. Using Hempy style, i was just worried that organic nutes would just go bad sitting in stagnant water in the "reservoir" that has to sit for a week before new nutes are introduced. Got 2 Kanabbia Thai Fantasy autos freshly transplanted into 2 gal pots Hempy style (1 seedling died for no apparent reason, 1 regularly sprouting one, and i have a thriving mutant with 3 cotyledon and 3 ridged leaves on its first node), 1 Dinafem Fruit Auto up but still in rockwool waiting to be transplated "under low light", and 1 HSO Blue Dream Photo that im turning into a mother in the tent. Im more curious to get into the organic side of growing.

UF,

Okay okay I got ya. You just don't want the residual build up to be bad for your plants. I know there is a certain kind of solution that is used when cleaning a reservior. Don't know if anything more than soap and water is necessary or not. But I am not a Hydro, DWC guy.

Talk to ya later,

Peace

I see this is getting to be an older thread and I don't really see an answer to your question.

Not sure if this applies to all organics, but Nectar for the Gods has a shelf life of 5 yrs. I'd assume the rest are about the same, but not 100% sure on that.

In the bottle.

After mixing :dunno:
