Coz I'm wondering if one of the 4 kitties has an incontinence problem and is scooping out holes in your soil and leaving little Jobbies.....they do like to poo in fresh soil..

Don't worry about it! As "insert name here" said, it is a male dominated hobby and I understand that. No offense taken :)

nightcrawlers or maybe a beetle larvae? is the entrance to the hole slimey..
Nope, not slimey, and no dried residue either :)

Nope, doesnt smell at all and they are outdoor cats w/ cat door. Also, the space has been locked and they are not able to get in it.

Even with the cats, I'm still leaning toward a mouse. I've had them get into my pots and what you've described sounds just like what I had. If you're got a trap I'd set one in the grow area anyway just to be safe. This is the time of year when they are looking to come indoors before the cold weather hits.

Alright, I'll entertain the idea that it may be a mouse, is this anything like you were seeing when you had one?

Outlined in red and purposely out of focus is one of the said "holes"...

long as you watered the media well first to rule out air pockets it does looks tampered with

It could be a Beetle or Roach burying under the soil. I've found a roach in one of my pots, I had to drown the little guy. Hope you get it figured out :smokeit:

I'd take that, but...in every pot? Not likely.

Did any dirt get throw out of the pot? That close to the edge, if it is a mouse I would expect some dirt on the floor next to the pot.

Forgive me if this is a stupid question... BUT you said you had a spider in there... Did these holes appear before or after removal? Certain Spiders dig holes is why I'm asking... But if you're not seeing spider silk or webbing around the holes probably not. Sorry just trying to help...
