Do some auto's need 12/12 to flower properly?

I have 2 auto critical kush's and one white rush, and im in week 8, the white rush is still stretching and one critical kush is twice the height of the other one and neither of the 3 are progressing with flowering. Tiny buds on all 3 plants, but size wise the plants are the biggest auto's ive ran. Can it be they need 12/12 to flower properly? I have had nothing but problems for 2 years growing auto's, but at least tkey produced, allbeit usually mediocre quality comparted to photo's..these ones, as big as they are, won't net anything meaning maybe an oz between the 3 with 600 watts of light on them. All 'colas' look like they are getting covered in tiny popcorn bud, right to the top.
I just finished a regular photo critical kush and the buds were super frosty and big dense nugs..thses auto versions are the complete opposite and by far the worst auto's i have had to date..wondering if its genetics or lighting.

Never had an auto that needed darkness an do not believe 12 hours of darkness benefits them .Some genetics are obviously better than others an phenotype variances play a big part in why one plant is good an one cultivar is just ok even though they are the same strain .Grown photos that we're not good same with autos some plants love my environment some don't I try to grow the ones that do an provide the good medical value .

Thanks for the reply..ya, im not getting barney's farm anymore. I just lollipopped them..was gonna chop the whole thing and get risd of them. Day 56 and virtually no buds growing, the ones that are are a weird yellowish/brownish color, no frost whatsoever, dryer leaves, top looks terrible again, only 1 auto from rqs ever grew nice and frosty with dense nugs..all the others are terrible..ive tried 12 or 13. Will stick to photo's. Thanks for the help!

First off I run my autos 18/6 start to finish and have not had a flowering problem. There are so many genetic variables to consider but if an auto has not started to bloom by the 6th week I would begin to suspect a mislabeled seed - not likely for all three plants. Next I would think environment: Are your temperatures running 75°F - 82°F daytime and ~10° cooler at night time? I had a sativa - tropical photo that refused to go into bloom until I went to 10/14 day/night once. so try more dark hours. You really don't have anything to lose.

I've gotten good autos from mephisto dinafem Humboldt seed co. Bomb seeds an a few others emerald triangle seeds has an awesome lemon haze auto I'm hopefully will run again soon .

Don't toss them. I've had plants twice act like you are describing. I switched to 12/12 for just a few days, it kicked the plants into heavy flower, then the rest of the grow they were in 20/4.

These are not photo's, they're auto's. They have been flowering, but extremely slow like no other's prior..in week 8 and top buds and colas are smaller than popcorn bud. I figured the way the photo critical kush looked, that these would be comparable, but not even close! Top growth is super skinny as well, and one kush Is still stretching. Never had an auto behave like these. Temps are fine, mid 70's with lights on..68-70 with lights off..though ive never heard of temp variations affecting flowering. I'll put them in 12-12 for a week or so to see what happens, I have nothing to lose I guess, as they will end up in the trash the way they are lol. These were free seeds sent to me, im guessing since they were free, they are likely poor quality, then again, ive read many times that auto's are very unpredictable and they have no rhyme or reason to the way they grow. I had an order placed with mephisto, but cancelled it today, i'll focus on regular photo's as auto's don't seem to be that strong in growing.

I've had autos do that before took a long time to finish. My blue amnesia xl was a lot like that but started flowering hard core at the end an grew like a beast also produced some nice flowers with a really nice blue berry taste an smell .

@autobeast has been growing autos for years with stellar results. don't judge autos by seeds of unknown quality. Not only that don't be impatient you may still have great results if you just let them do their thing. Give those plants some love.

Ps. cooler temperatures can slow growth dramatically.

my last grow was much cooler in temps..average outdoor temps was -15 in the daytime, and they produced without issue, this is much better..again, they are big, 2 are still growing it seems, well stretching anyways, I just never had one that only starts hitting actual flower after 2 months. I've cut all nitrogen out completely just to see, if that's what it was, nothing changed. No trichomes appearing, but plants do have a smell, however buds also don't look great, color seems off. I'll try to reduce the lighting and see how it affects them..at this point, I have nothing to lose as nothing is growing. At this rate its going to take longer than a photo if it actually decides to flower properly.
