Recently got a pack of DG. None germed. Surrounded by successfull popage. Was told i was alone. Was wondering if anyone had a issue with these beans?

Hello yep i have had a good few not germ of mephisto strains i have tried all diffrent ways of germ with no luck if you say something it will be your fault not the seeds lol :smoking:

I'm running 4 different strains by 4 different breeders right now. The 4 spots next round will all be Mephisto seeds. I do a water soak for 24 to 48 hrs usually have good tails by then and then place in final pots. Never got any good results when trying the paper towel method, think it might be chems used in making the paper pulp.

Recipe for 99.9999% germ...

Temp, moisture, patience.

For over 15 yrs, I've started every seed, auto, photo, tulips, corn, etc,,...meph, rocbud, ethos, sweetseeds, freebies, whatever.... in soil less medium like bio bizz light mix, or happy frog.... moistened, domed, on heat mat.
With 99%+ germ, I've never had to try paper towels, soaking, and strange shit like that. Go watch a real farmer, they plant their stuff and go drink coffee.

I go into soil. I am a gardener. Again if some of these seeds companies had germ rates of standard seeds companies they would not.be in buisness.

Have you ever had a pack seed with a lower germ rate. 99+% germ rate is higher then a standard seed company's rate. They typically garrentee 98%

I dropped 19 seeds last week, one being Double Grape. Only 2 didn't come up and both were non-Meph girls. I suspect my seed placement.
I rough up my seeds by shaking them in a tube of rolled up sand paper. Soak for 24 hrs in water on a heat mat, set at 80*F......mat is a new addition. Seed is cracked and a tiny tail showing. I clean away top of the media so the seed will contact only media and make a slight depression. Place the seed tail down and cover with media and water to settle. Planter placed on the seed mat in the planter itself or in a seed tray with a dome that gets misted.
Most seeds are above the ground in 48 hours from dropping in water. Never had a Meph bean to not germ.

Yeah - I have a very solid germ protocol and have challenges with Meph beans from time to time. Was 1/3 on my last AvT grow and went through a pack of HBH with no germs. I am racking this up to shipping issues, like perhaps being stuck in a 200 deg shipping container at anchor for months or whatnot.

You will also find that if you raise germ issues with Meph gear on the wider internet you will get jumped on by Meph fanboys who claim your germ protocol is suspect. Just fair warning.

That's just fanboys period. Canna or racing, they are the same. I'm glad it's not tolerated here.
It does make some interesting shop rivalries in racing, though.
