Indeed.That's just fanboys period.

I started out growing IBLs and landraces. I could just stick the seed in the pot and it would sprout. Otherwise I could put it on a wet paper towel. It didn't really matter, because seeds usually sprouted. But I have found that so-called premium genetics do better when they're soaked overnight, at least for me. I have been soaking in a mixture of green aminos and coconut milk. I don't know if that's the right thing to do, but it works really well for me.Recipe for 99.9999% germ...
Temp, moisture, patience.
For over 15 yrs, I've started every seed, auto, photo, tulips, corn, etc,,...meph, rocbud, ethos, sweetseeds, freebies, whatever.... in soil less medium like bio bizz light mix, or happy frog.... moistened, domed, on heat mat.
With 99%+ germ, I've never had to try paper towels, soaking, and strange shit like that. Go watch a real farmer, they plant their stuff and go drink coffee.
You are gonna love it! Good Luck!I just bought a pack of DG from Hembra & germinated a seed. Overnight soak, paper toweled, & it’s going strong about 30hrs later.
My first Mephisto (4th plant ever) & I’m really excited.
My Double Grape is a runt as well.I've had issues in the past as well. The double grape in particular did pop the couple times I did try, but they were severe runts and got tossed.
I should add that 6 of those 15 were Double Grape and that before I switched to the germination method I use now I had all sorts of problems getting reliable germination regardless of the breeder. The only other thing I do besides soak till they crack and plant them is put a humidity dome on until the plant has 3-4 nodes.I have only grown Mephisto autos, soak em’ till they crack and right into final pot. I am 15/15 on germinated Mephisto seeds.
I also only ever buy my seeds directly from Mephisto. If you got it form anywhere else who knows how long it has been sitting around.
Always buy directly from the breeder is my creed.
