Mephisto Genetics Double grape isn’t very grapey?

How was that grapey walter? I heard it’s some pretty powerful stuff, wish I could find a few of those beans. My sour stomper is the same way, smells strongly of grapes and berries compared to the double grape. My forgotten cookies turned out smelling very berry with just a hint of the cookies smell...so damn good. Maybe a SS dominant pheno from that bean?

Grapey Walter seemed real similar to Grape Walker Kush, but with a little subtle different twist. The structures of the plants were very similar as well. I think anything mixed with walter white is a winner.
My forgotten cookies turned out just like yours with berry smell and taste. The berry smell in the fc, expressed itself just like the Fugue State I grew, which is a parent starin of FC. My FC had very little cookies, but lots of 'I forgot'. Top notch strain all the way.

Both of the Double Grapes I’ve grown have a similar sweetness to them. Each time I pop the jar I get aromas of cotton candy coming out. Very pleasant on the nose. Abit of a heavier/harsh smoke to it, but still very much enjoyable.

I agree with the harsh smoke as well. Every other strain I grow is way smoother the DG, even after spending 3 months in a jar curing, its harsher than anything else I have grown from MG. But its really good anyway!

Here is my one Double Grape that for sure smells like Grape (Day 74)

My other two look like this one. Not nearly as fat of bud and not a super strong nose, but extremely frosty. (Day 74)

To be honest in years of growing very few lives up to the name. Strawberry doesn't smell or taste like a strawberry. I had a bubble gum that when cut smelled like hubba bubba. After it dried nothing. Purple nugs tasted like like wine to me. Maybe strawberry wine, though I've only heard of that in song. In general they all taste similar to me. Maybe I don't have a refined palate, or maybe names are more about hype than reality.

I did really enjoy 2x grape. I think stomper had more of that grape trait than the double did.

I was curious why mine doesnt either..My double grape dont smell grapey. more of a sweet smell. Now my sour stomper. That smelled like a vineyard lol
But honestly shed the least smelling plant in my tent. But she looks great. day 83 today I believe. full tent limited me from opening her up.

I have a Double Grape that smells like Grape. Its been in jars for 3 months and still smells and tastes like grape. I will say this though. The Sour Stomper I grew has more and a better grape smell than Double Grape, and its been in jars for over a year. . I grew a Grapey Walter that is pretty grapey as well, but still not as much grape as SS. I grew Grape Walker Kush also, that has more Grape smell / taste than Double Grape as well.

I've had the same experience. Out of five Double Grape I grew, 0 smelled or tasted of grape. Sour Stomper, on the other hand....! I dried them recently, hung the entire plant for 7 days, then into paper bags after I stripped the branches. I always bring mine weed up from the basement at that stage, to get some final drying on them before going into Mason Jars. Anyway, One paper bag made my entire house smell of that cheap penney grape bubblegum that I got as a kid. Real strong artificial grape aroma, grape kool-Ade, or Pixie Stix. People freak out over it when I whip it out.........;-)

Agreed. Sour Stomper has a super Grspe Candy pheno...unlike Double Grape. Daz released Triple Grape the other day. With a name like thst it shoukd reek of Grapes and be more purple than Grimmace. Doubt either are gonna happen.. it drives me nuts to name something thst doesnt match a description directly in the strain name. It should not be nameed Double Grape and I have ssid that 100x. Grew out 4 Sour Stompers recently. 3 of them all grew the same and have a sour patch/grape/gas smell. The fourth has a slightly different structure and smells like super sweet fruity/grape candy.

Yes, Sour Stomper has a great smell! Double Grape yields slightly better and is a frosty girl! Both great strains, but Sour Stomper is more grape smelling by far. Not sure the relationship between Daz and the Mephisto crew, but naming a strain Triple Grape is lame when Double Grape didnt resemble grape anything in the first place. If you put Double or Triple in the name of a strain it should be dark ass purple and reek like grapes. Hopefully he put a little more effort into pheno hunting to find some Grape phenos. I dont really care for Purple plants to be honest, but at a minimum the plants should smell like grapes if you name it Double or Triple! Peace slow
