It's taken a while to get going, but finally my second ever grow is off the ground, and I can't wait to see how this new light performs! I used my remaining DP AutoUltimate seed from my first grow last year. It's been in my fridge all year in its original packaging so it took some waking up. I germinated it in a glass of water this time so I could monitor it without disturbing it. Worked well.

Once it popped, I placed it in a root riot cube and planted it straight in the pot. I noticed it had broken the surface of the soil this morning and grown a full 2cm by the time I got home this evening. It needed a little assistance removing the seed husk, but once removed the 'starter' leaves were able to unfurl. The RH in my grow tent is a little high at 65%, temp 23.7C so I need to keep an eye on that. :/

So, day 1, here we go! I'll try and update as often as I can.

Hay bro good luck with the grow, I will be tagging along for the fun.

Cheers bro! It will be fun. I made a lot of mistakes on my first grow, which I'm determined not to make a second time, but I'm sure I'll make a whole bunch of new mistakes so it'll be a laugh and a learning curve. Especially with this new light. What I'm finding so far is I'm struggling to get the right conditions in the tent. Temp too low and RH too high. Ideally I'd like temp of 25-26 and RH <50%. I've seen on a number of posts that you try to keep RH in the range of 35-45% throughout with LEDs. The weather has been very muggy recently though so that's not helping. I'm not going to take any action yet. Let's see how it goes. :D

The end of summer and early autumn are the worst, warm and wet so dehumidifier can be essential.

What height do you have you light above the seedling bro?

About 50cm. I've noticed she's a bit lanky but i can't remember if positioning the light higher causes the plant to stretch, or closer.

I've thought about getting a dehumidifier but I'm quite constrained for space. So I've been looking at alternatives such as moisture absorbers. They're cheap and extract the moisture from the air using crystals or something and turn it into a gel. Would be wholly unsuitable for your large grow space but may be adequate in my tiny space?

If the light is to high for the plant it will stretch up towards it, if you think a plant is stretching to much drop the light down by 10cm, 50cm above is a good place to start just watch the plant and act accordingly.

You can get quite small dehumidifiers.

Day 4

Height (cm): 5.5
Temp (C): 26.7 (min 22.2, max 27.2)
RH (%): 60 (min 47, max 66)

Noticed she's looking a bit leggy so have lowered the light to 40cm above. Think I'm going to invest in a humidifier. This muggy weather is playing havoc with the environment.

If your seedling is stretching, you might want to position the seedling directly under the center of the Diffuser, not the center of the HS1. It does make a difference in light intensity.

In your photos it looks like the Seedling is leaning towards the light?
