Dream Beans breeding project thread

I thinned them out yesterday and went ahead and did a “thump” of the two biggest males that have dropped the most pollen.

I am taking @Mossy advice and only pollinating for 3 days.

So I will thump again tomorrow and then one more time the next day. Maaaaybe one more day after that.

Also, I have tried a new method of too dressing. Basically just taking the little tool that came with my little seedling trays. It’s just a dowel type thing. But making a hole and putting the super soil mix in the hole.

Definitely save some pollen before culling them. Pollen I stuck in my freezer two years ago has been viable enough to make seeds in batches since, including about a hundred seeds I harvested last weekend from a few hand-pollinated lower branches. I mix it 1 part pollen to about 10 parts AP pollen (dried out in a toaster oven and cooled), which both helps to keep it dry and stretches it to brush on more effectively.

Oh yeah I am def gonna let them spew some
More and save the skeet

I have like 20 more of these seeds left so I can still get some more males.

I up potted my 3 reversals and have the 8 plants that I pollinated out in the lag in 3 gallon pots.

They are loving life and starting to produce seed rapidly. I have the remaking ones in the boom boom room still. Gonna pick the best 6 I think and put the rest on the porch

The ones on the porch are lookin good too

I will snap some pics of the little pots later or tomorrow.
