Harvest & Curing Drying, the waiting game

Yes turn your fan speed down and lights off... I do this most of the time but I'm in a hurry this time and had 4 different plants.. they tend not to be ready at the same time even if the strain is the same

If you uses a dehydrator it will be to dry on the out side wet on the inside and if you go dryer it will taste like hay the whole thing is to not dry it fast because You want the plant to die slow so it uses all the sugars in the plant as it drys then the taste is good and smooth I hang it all in the dark no moving air I try to get the leave to dry so they are str8 hanging if they curl up they are drying to fast try that with one plant see if that works for you I hang the whole plant with leaves and all

If you dry it like that it it will smell good taste good and people will want to smoke it all gone

I use the paper bag method. Then jar cure

I do for sampling small amounts. Gives you an idea of how strong the strain is and if it's done.

Shit I used a microwave to dry a few pounds in high school buds on the bottom where dark smelled like steamed buds that was in 9th grade had weed all school year and summer but I would never dry like that again but I was a kid in a rush to burn one lol now if I'm out and drying I just call a friend for some thing and wait for it to be right

I wait to cut the plant for for the amber Milky Way no to the clear frost unless u need some day time weed clear to milk is ok but I'm a fast kind of guy so I like heavy weed and I look in side the buds to make sure it's ready I know every one in here has cut bud to early lol I have looks done like a cake and in side it's not

Haha I've done the same as a young lad would. Other than I made the mistake of putting a gram off a friend in a microwave to quick dry! but it was wrapped in tin foil bye bye microwave it blew up with magical colours quite scary lol and of course the gram well..... Was half a bong of brown burnt horrible weed NOT GOOD! please dry it properly for all the main reasons never done that again!!!

Step 1 : aquire tools for harvest
(Trimming shears, paper bags, jars, mini hygrometers, gloves, bowl, paper clips or stapler)

Step 2 : remove your plant from tent at desired harvest date.

Step 3 : turn on "trimming music" of your choice and sit in the floor in front of your beauful home grown cannabis plant and engorge yourself with her smells and beauty.

Step 4 : put on gloves and secure shears in dominant hand and secure the first bud for harvest in the other.

Step 5 : begin to disassemble your plant cola by cola bud by bud. Trim them down to "finished" manicured buds and place them in the bowl.

Step 6 : Now your plant is all trimmed up and in perfect buds in a bowl, locate your paper bags. (Got mine in a pack of 500 from sams.... get the BIG grocery store ones) place enough bud in the bottom of each paper bag to cover but NOT sit on top of each other. I then roll the top of the paper bag down 2 times in a 1 inch fold and secure with paper clips or a staple.

Step 7 : find a secure hopefully dark place to hang you bags of harvested cannabis for drying.... I tape mine to the wall of a closet.

Step 8 : Hang your bags of cannabis

Step 9 : find out the room rh with the mini hygrometer. Take the room rh and divide by ten..... then add 1 ... this is how long the buds should sit in the paper bags. (Approximate)

Exaple.... rh = 62% I round to 60 divide by 10 = 6

Then add 1 = 7

I tap the bags twice daily on the bottoms to "stir" the buds and keep them from touching in the same spot and mold or dry un evenly


Step 10 : place the buds loosely in the jars 3/4 full and add a digital mini hygrometer to a few of them and monitor the rh.

60 to 65 % is the goal

If they are still high in moisture take them put daily for 30 min or so then jar them back up til it reaches 62% then store for curing..
