New Grower Dumb a** and AK47

Ok...me and the wife got our groove on...I wanted to show her the girls. I grabbed my 30x lighted loop and hit the door...after a look I gave her the loop. As she looked she got startled and said..."there are red bugs on the leaves"!!! Indeed!? So I have VERY small red bugs crawling on my leaves. Can anyone tell me what to do? Bugs don't sound cool to me....

Sounds like you might have some red spider mites bro... they're the pits. Check out this thread for some ID'ing info and how to eliminate them. :smokebuds:

Spider mites...Damn...I went to the local hydro shop and got a chemical (Azamax I think). Mixed it up and soaked the plants. I checked for the little bastards before I sprayed and then after. The few I did see before stopped moving! Hopefully it does the trick. I'll still have to spray more times because it won't affect the eggs. I'm good with that if it works!!

Good fpr you if you win against the nites. Do you have red ones or yellow ones? Tay are the borg for sure. I lost a crop to them. Now I use the hang up pest strips in my room with the bubbly tank. I hope they never come back. Good luck fighting yours.

welcome mtam12 I wish you well! I just finished a grow using MG while not the best if do don`t over water it you should be ok but,remember the bigger the root the bigger the fruit.

If those mites are like the borg I must have a different type mite. I doubt my hydro shop has the magic spray to kill spider mites but noone else does. In any event the spray seems to work. I did see one new one and doused it. Bye bye...I'll see if I can find those pest strips. Worth the few bucks I'm sure!

Bigger the root bigger the fruit! Love it!! Here's what the look like now. Same plant. The other one is much smaller. I know I don't have to change the light cycle. Do I need to change the light color at some point? Currently using mostly 6500k with one 2700K. When should I start giving bloom nutes?

I have decided to make a bigger box. My plan is for it to be 5'H X 18"W 30"L. I plan to use a 4 bulb 2' tube CFL. Any recommendations on what type? I have 6 more Ak47 seeds. What size air pot should I put each one in for the new box? I also will need a quite fan and filter. I've sen some at HGS but have heard they are LOUD. What else will I need?

Hey bud, great start. :thumbs:You dont wanna start using flowering nutes until the vertical growth is complete.. She will grow an inch a day atleast. 5-6 week mark.
How much head room do your plants have between them and the lights. They are still gonna get taller, you might wanna think about a little LSTing.:smokebuds:In regards to your question about the lights. Once in full flower, you will wanna change those to all 2700k in my opinion. That will be the flowering spectrums you will need. You are A ok with the 6500k for now, for vegging :booya:Keep it up and much luck the rest of the way..
