This is a direct copy of @420autoflower grows. 420autoflower has very kindly been helping me with every aspect of the grow, from building the flood tray table, to germinating, to rockwool preparation and tips. Everything that goes right is because of him, everything that goes wrong is probably because I didn't listen. I would have no grow to post if it wasn't for him. Huge thanks dude!

The strains in this grow will be mostly sativa focused.

2x Strawberry Cough - Master Sensei
1x Green Crack - Sonoma Seeds
1x Acapulco Gold - Sonoma Seeds
1x Zamaldelica - Ace Seeds
1x Cherry Cola - Fastbuds
2x Banana Cosmic - Master Sensei

The gear I'm using will be Grodan rockwool in starter cubes, 4x4 cubes, and 9.5x8x4 slabs, General Hydroponics FloraTrio nutrients with CaliMagic, a 4x2x6 tent, AC infinity 6" inline fan and carbon filter, 3x Spiderfarmer SF1000 lights, 2x holmes clip on fans (will add more later), a small dehumidifer I hung by screwing two little hooks into the top, and a Active Aqua 4x2 flood tray which doesn't properly fit in the tent, but it fortunately still zips closed. 420autoflower I believe has said the Botanicare 4x2 tray fits better.

I'm using a 35 gallon reservoir, which is overkill, but I drill holes in the sides to feed the tubes so that I can fully remove or seal the lid when necessary. The holes eat into my reservoir max capacity so it's likely closer to ~25 usable gallons.

So I have not given the drain hose a shot since I haven't needed to clean the reservoir yet. But the idea came from using a shopvac on my other reservoir. It's super noisy and I have a bunch of cats I try to keep happy so I wanted another solution. I should be able to close the valve going up to the tray, and then open the draining hose valve to redirect the reservoir's flow. The draining hose is a few feet long to drain into a bucket or tub outside the tent. The pump I'm using is a Vivosun submersible pump. It works as the tray flood pump, but also operates in under 1cm depth, so when it comes time to clean the reservoir I can quietly pump most of it out.

I was very clumsy on my germination, some seeds were dropped with the taproot kind of sideways, and some were planted pretty shallow. I will likely drop them a little deeper next time.

They were upgraded from the starter cubes to these 4x4 rockwool cubes about when their first leaves started to open. In germination they were just being fed RO water, but started giving them about 300ppm of nutrients once they were in the 4x4 cubes. They're all being top fed while they establish roots.

A root started coming out through the 4x4 cube after only about 7 days. I needed to quickly put them on the slabs. I followed 420autoflower's advice by adding Mykos root enhancer, but I didn't ask which way to prepare it so I just dumped 1/2tsp of the powder onto each slab and rubbed it in.... Once the 4x4 cubes were on top I flushed them pretty good hoping to dilute the powder a bit and let it spread through the slab.

They're all receiving about 13000-14000 lux right now, that has done my younglings well in the past. I'll fine tune it based on which ones are reaching or laying down.

They just hit 7 days old here, so I'm feeding them my week 2 strength which is about 1.1ec or 550ppm, and 5.7ph. I have the reservoir at the same strength and I'm just going to flood it once a day for now while the roots establish in the slab. In another week or so I think I'll stop top feeding and just flood the tray 3 times daily. That's where we're at for now! Thanks for stopping by, and again big big thank you to 420autoflower!!

Day 11 update! Not much to report, but they're coming along nicely. Still getting week 2 nutrients which is about 1.1 EC at 5.7 pH. Lux meter at the leaves reads between 17k-18k. I'm still top feeding them and turning on the flood tray once per day. I'm not really sure when to stop top feeding, but I will probably continue to top feed until they hit at least week 3 (just a few more days). Humidifier is running pretty much nonstop trying to maintain 60-65% RH. I think the rockwool is absorbing some of the humidity maybe, because the tent is having trouble gaining RH. I'd like to keep these girls above the 50s when they're so young.

Day 20 update, these things took off!! I stopped top feeding after my last update, so I have essentially just been checking on them every day or two to adjust the pH of the reservoir. They are completely hands off, and they're loving it. I was worried about them drinking the same nutrients all week, but they look multitudes healthier than my coco grow did at this stage. This morning I changed the reservoir for their week 4 nutrients, so it looks like they're on autopilot for another week! They're getting 1.3 EC of a new General Hydroponics feeding schedule, consisting of Armor SI, Calimagic, Floramicro, grow, and bloom, Koolbloom, and Diamond Nectar. Also putting some yucca powder in the reservoir. I read this was good for coco and reducing dry spots with auto watering, but I figured I would try in case it helped the rockwool wick up the nutrients better, I have no idea or evidence to say it does, just testing things out! I only use about a teaspoon per week for the entire reservoir.

Had a couple of mutations as well. The strawberry cough in the back left has been sprouting 3 leaves instead of 2 per node which looks like it has been increasing how many budsites it will have (just a guess). And then the front Banana Cosmic has been popping out wrinkled leaves almost since sprout. I thought it would grow out of it, but it hasn't, and the entire plant is starting to look a little bit like lettuce! Hopefully it doesn't affect the plant too much, but the branches are certainly bending a bit abnormally. That's all for now! Hopefully we'll see some flowering next update!

hehe, once you know about triploids, they are everywhere...keep an eye on her...reading through the net its possible she'll even be more potent and a real beast. Lot's of "myths" are going and breeders seem to go after them.
If there pop up even more, I tend to think, science is going forward and we'll see more in the future.
Good luck whith your grow mate.

Day 33 update! Today they got some defoliation since the past week they really grew out of control. They are stretching straight up even with relatively aggressive light settings. They are flowering a little slowly, I think they still want to grow. Every day I check they're an inch taller, I can't raise my lights much higher! I'm giving them more bloom and less grow nutrients, hoping they take the hint.

For those that haven't tried a system like this, I'd have to say it's pretty awesome. It uses so much less water than watering to runoff with coco (like my other grow), and it's all self-contained (not like my other grow). Big thanks again to 420autoflower, I think I'm officially converted.
