Hello to all;
I have worm casting in my soil.
Has anyone or can you put live worms in with your auto grow??????
I would just like to know.

You can but the majority won't live that long Pops. The reason is two fold, they won't care much for those water dunks they get every few days. They love moist soil but not so much wet soil. Another reason is, a good soil is going to be high in nutrients which is really nothing more than salts. Yes, even organics turn to salts, just the natural way compared to a chemical process. Worms won't care much for it.

I would suggest a worm farm, for a hundred bucks, and start making your own worm castings. The quality is ten fold better than anything you can purchase and the price is just right after the initial investment. Free! Now, you want to talk about some happy worms, feed them your veggie scraps and you will be in business.

Thanks a4

Yea I saw a vid of a guy who basicly turned his pots into compost pots and grows directly in the with worms..looks like it works but who knows..I dont have allot of veggie scrap..not enough to feed 8 or 9 plants in full flower...But making your own castings is smart too like A4 said plus you can fish with them and use the fish scraps for planting...I was thinking of cricket castings hmm..never saw that one done...

ppl do cricket farming for frass additives...its effective.id think it'll run slightly hot..but not bad.prolly do really good for you too.

Cricket farming i have no idea on how to do that. Do you???
The worm stuff i need i have laying around very little cost, to start.

yeah actually i do.its a simple understanding of farming worms..to small bugs.are very similar..so to answer your question as a basic answer yes i do.but to know more specifically about individual insects as frass is traditionally made from,its all the same process within individual bugs ways of life.its really simple.a pain if your over your head certainly..but a s a sentence on farming and abilities from said farmed stuffs,are truyl excellent and well worth it...

All my plants Are grown with a worm casting mix I get the soil from a worm farm th a t sells worms it works great tends to be Clay like so mixing is important
