Indoor Dutch Passion Think Different x5

Nice grow.

If your plants will behave like mine did, you will see some unpleasant stretch next days. 5 TDs in 14l and 400W HPS @ 80x80cm might be a little to dense.

At the beginnning I was very greedy and put too many plants together. With time I have learned, that it does not help, so I am lowering density slowly to find the right ratios and get the most per watt/m2/time. I will also try with smaller pots but can not do everything at once. Still learning every day.

Yesterday I had cut the least productive plant to have 7 instead of 8 on 2 m2 and 1100 W LED. All TD. It is hard to do such decision but today I am happily observing the rest. There is no more one plant in the middle and now all 7 of them can get more direct light. I am almost sure that I will be rewarded for that move.

And I am almost sure that you would benefit cutting one plant out and go with four, the fifth one will just make mess. You will have troubles to illuminate them properly and these troubles will get bigger every day.

But if you just leave them as they are, you will get some decent yield anyway and some experience too.

Sorry if I do not just stop and say: Oh, what beautifull plants, may I get subbed.:Sharing One:

Solid point you have there Mak Bo, I just thought I'd go with 400W for there can never be too much light. :)
As soon as i get my hands on a 250W I will switch them out and check the outcome, thanks for the hint.

The ladies are growing rapidly btw but I have little time right now, will try to take one or two pics for you guys later.

Have a nice day!

It seems to me that 400w would be better since you get about same lumen output as me when temps go up outside, but you don't cool it with cool tube.

So i guess lumen/heat ratio is better with 400w. So if you were to put 250w to have same temps as with 400w you would get less lumen.
Can't be sure since i don't know your temps directly above canopy. From my experience it can get from 2C to 5C lower if not measured directly above canopy

+ 400w covers more space

I appreciate that!
Posting in a Forum is about sharing opinions, I'm not here for cirklejerks.

I've been thinking the same looking at their growth over the last few days, so many side branches all sprouting in every direction...
Getting rid of one plant would be no big deal, I don't even need to cut it since I have some friends who could take care of that. :3

@Mak Bo
I can't measure temp directly above canopy, just have a very cheap thermometer lying around between the leaves.
Will try to observe that in the upcoming days.

Auch herzlich wilkommen Tokaite. ;)

Over crowding as I learned the VERY HARD WAY will promote possible mold or things like white powdery mold... Key is air exchange and keeping environment clean and in check ;) they are looking REALLY GOOD! :gthumb:

If you do it today with no delay you will prevent some stretch maybe. Your tent is low, you might have troubles soon.

Thanks again for the comments guys.

I don't like mold at all, had problems with that back in the days of growing magic mushrooms.
Been talking to a friend of mine, one of the ladies will move into a new home later this day or tomorrow morning!

Good decision. Think Different has a variety of phenotypes also, so as you harvest the ripe ones, it will create more space for the inevitable 100+day phenos that may be hiding in the mix.

Efficiently filling every square foot, but not overcrowding your space is the trickiest logistical component IMO.

That is very good, even four will be hard to satisfy with light when tall.

How tall are they now and at what day?

I hope that they have not started crazy stretch, but if they did, it will not be so crazy, when they get less densed.

I have been discovering density, height and crop (LED and 400WHPS) for some time only with TD, so that it is easier to define things (and because I simply love this strain). I have started dense and experienced a lot of stretch, then I started lowering density and when it was lower as before, not all the plants stretched, they were between 1m and 60 cm. So it worked, but not on all phenos equally.

Now I have two 4 days old TD babies which I will try to drive so apart that they will not stretch at all but with as little space for them as possible, because they will not be alone. Light must be as direct as possible and they must touch each other or walls as little as possible, that is the key, I think.

Good Luck and take care of water ph to stay on the safe side.

Had no time to see my friend today, gonna try tomorrow.
The smallest plant is around 40cm, tallest one around 60cm.
Almost at the end of week 5 now.

Lucky guy.

Everything is just perfect. They will not get much height any more from now on, when they really stretch, they explode up around day 20-25 and then at day 30-35 the highest reaches 1 meter and looks terribly leggy.

We can see only small pictures of your grow and everything was more or less guessing about possible development. Better to prevent than cure.

Again I see only small picture but it looks very, very good and with height 40-60cm at day 35 you are on the safe side, I think. I guess they will finish between 50-55 and 80cm.

Good Luck. You will love Think Different.
