Problem: Rusty spots on leaves, purple golden colour on a few leaf edges

Medium/grow method: Clay Pebbles/DWC

Feed: and supplements used: Canna Aqua Flores A&B 2ml/l, Cannazym 1.5ml/l, Rhizotonic 0.5ml/l, Canna Boost 2ml/l, Shogun Calmag 1ml/l, Shogun liquid silicone 1ml/l, Terpinator 3ml/l

water source: Tap water left to stand for 24hrs, EC 0.5

Strain/age: Mephisto Orange Sour Livers Day 59

light used: Viparspectra 900W @20 inches above canopy

Climate: Temps 73/67 RH 50

Additional info: OK so last week I had to leave my girl for a couple days unattended and when I returned my PH had dropped to 5.0 from 6.1 and my EC had gone up to 2.6 from 1.8 which I think explains the rusty spots and the slight tip burn but I am not sure if this has caused the deficiency on the leaf edges on the last picture, any thoughts appreciated.

@Waira hope you don't mind me tagging you bro, but you are normally the man with an answer :bighug:

I use to run my pH around 5.6? Any slime?

No slime bro but I am thinking about switching to a sterile res as running beneficial bacteria which makes the res smell earthy but definitely this is not root rot, overall plant is healthy but I would rather catch a deficiency early before it gets worse

.... Cheers Chro'! I'm not that hydro savvy myself but lets see,... I think that pH hiccup and the EC jump were behind this,... weird, looks like K defc. on the upper leaves, (browned out margin teeth),.. or ironically, K toxicity which causes the same symptoms! The other spots could be Ca or Mn defc., but too generic to tell just yet,.... I wonder at the EC going up?? Could be from evaporation from the res', and/or the plants taking in more water than nutes-? I'll tag some homies-- @MedGrower @Heavily Medicated @Olde School Player
... could be that the EC jump also messed with uptake of K and maybe Ca, a competitive thing, not just pH lockout which changes the chemistry of the nute ions and make them unabsorbable,.. (plants are very specific about what forms can be absorbed)... Oh, and the lights, may have played their part too, looking at those top leaves with the K symptoms,.. K helps regulate internal leaf temps,.. troubles there, caused by overly intense light (not just heat) can cause such symptoms,... raise it up to 2ft and see if that helps too,... temp/RH5 is in range so VPD issues aren't behind this,...

Not sure on how this strain generally looks or performs but I don't like to see that kind of leaf form. That's just my opinion, not sure in this case but plants don't always play by the book!

It is a huge plant with huge demands. I think these symptoms are largely due to the swing in the pH and EC. As you are having intense light blasting photons making it for the plant to have to have good metabolism and supply of nutrients and water, she is going through water very rapidly. Because of this then, as the reservoir was left unattended the EC goes up making it that much more harder for a proper turgidity to happen resulting in a whole host of problems with the metabolism and the nutrient transport.

Just keep up with the water demand and keep the levels at bay and I am sure she will make it through. I'd personally go with lower EC levels than 1.8 due to the obvious elevated demand of water vs. nutrient. Remember that the nutrients and the water are taken up through separate mechanisms. And as your plant goes through a lot more solution in a day than when it is young, having the same relative amount of nutrients is still taking in more nutrients because then they are being used more faster. I hope I am making sense here. I'd aim to keep the EC of the solution so it stays stable even though the plant goes through a lot of water.

Keep up with the rhizotonic as it helps calm the plant down when stressed. Good luck bro!

@Waira @fettled6 @MedGrower , thank you guys for taking the time to have a look, I definitely agree with the rising EC and PH issues are the main reason behind this and I think maybe I have become a bit complacent and have been letting my res levels get to low, I have raised the light to 24 inches, bought down my EC to 1.5 where she was last happiest at and I will do a complete res change tomorrow.
I do have one further question though regarding benneficials, I am currently running cannazym and I haven't had any issues with disease at all in my res but it does make it smell pretty earthy which I assume is how it is supposed to smell but I am sure this smell transfers to the flowers as in both of my grows seem to smell exactly the same and particularly this grow which started off with her having a really strong Orange skunky funk but now seems to have changed to an earthy smell so could this be down to the cannazym? Would it hurt to change over now to a sterile res as I have a bottle of Silver Bullet roots?

As far as I have understood and experienced, cannazym does not affect the taste in this way. It is my go-to enzyme for now and I use it with all strain I grow and I've had very much variety between the strains and their flavors. I think it is very good to run enzymes and / or beneficial bacteria in your reservoir to ward off diseases and bad bacteria. Ahh...BTW I happened to remember just now that Canna Vega and Flores both already have silica added to them so if you didn't know that, adding extra silicone is not necessary.

I am sure if you just do your curing in the end right, the buds will gain their full aroma their terpinoid profile will deliver. I think with 0.5 EC water 1.5 EC sounds about perfect at this stage and lets hope it will do the job.

Raising the lights sounds like good idea just to allow her a breather at least. Keep on updating the situation in couple days and lets hope all will turn out well!
