Grow Mediums DWC nutrient strengths

This is how bad advice gets started. Someone posts crap like this and then some new grower reads it not realizing it is WRONG and passes it on and so on and so forth. Next thing you knoew we got grower starving their plants to death all because some fool "read somewhere" a bunch of wrong information.
dude... in hydro a young plant cant take 250 or such. or its overfed. if the plants are starving then feed more. I'm posting what works for me.

A PPM level that woks for your plants may not work for mine. Just don't word your posting as if it a rule of growing. For the record by day 15 my Grape Crinkle auto was already WANTING 330PPM and I was raising it everyday to meet her needs. By day 22 she was at 700PPM. Now if I went around and told everyone to run 700PPM on day 22 it would be as incorrect as you telling everyone to one feed a plant 100PPM.

k. will do. how u know not to go over and find the sweet spot?

If the tips turn down, or you get burn spots, or yellowing on the outside and older leaves your nutes are too hot or your ph is off.

I have started seedlings on 300PPM just fine, but if the water is right on them it will hurt them. I put it in a big net pot, and off to the side in the media. I only do that so I don't have to keep changing the water every week before the seedlings even show roots out of the bottom. If it gets dry I water the rockwool.

So there are a lot of variables to consider. They are right there is no answer. But one thing is for sure, it always easier to make it stronger, and the plants recover better from under than overfeeding. Ph and temperature is more important in DWC in my opinion than nutes.

You have to watch the PPM readings. If you set your rez/bucket at 500PPM today and 24hrs later it's 600PPM then that tells you she is drinking more water than nutes and it's to hot for her. If that same 500PPM is 420PPM 24hrs later then you know she is hungry and up taking more nutes to water. I like to keep them just on the hungry side.

Good Advice @HotBunz Right now I am into day 54, roughly 14 into bloom, and the girls are drinking about a gallon a day each while at the same time I am dropping about 50 ppm per day, maybe a little more. I have my nutrients calculated in total for a desires rise of just under 250 ppm given the size of my res and when I get to about 650-700 I will dose with nutrients again. This has kept them both drinking well as well as growing like mad.

I watch the water and ppm 2-3 times a day and just make sure I see both dropping nicely.
