Organic homemade soil, 1/3 locally harvested composted horse manure 1/3 locally harvested beach peat 1/3 perlite, amended with Green Sand, ground organic egg shells, an occasional one part urine ten parts water for added Nitrogen (I don't tell my friends..:P) and an organic Myca mix, in a 10gal self watering container. I never PH'd the water, but always used spring water locally obtained from the same spring. I LST'd minimally, mostly using rubber bands tied to screws attached to the tote just below the lid. 400w MH/HPS iPower lamp. I also grew 2 Speed Ryder #2's in this tote during the same time. (first time grower I got a little excited with planting) The Speed Ryders only produced a little over 1.5 oz combined, but they are by FAR my favorite smoke to date. This Easy Ryder yielded 139 grams dry, just about 5 ounces. Pretty pleased, just not stoked about the smoke. Gets me a little jittery. But anyways, very productive so I thought I'd share..:)

I won't lecture on the ph.... Fantastic harvest brother! Great job! What's on the menu next?
Here's a :slap: for your first grow! Welcome to AFN! Hope you journal your next grow for us!

Nice! What are speed ryders? Do you mean a sativa high from the easy?

Thanks. AKR, AutoMazar, Little Cheese Auto, Candy Kush Auto, and Sin Tra Bajo will be next. Also, I built a new tent with two Hans Panels, excited to go LED. And yeah, the Easy Ryder is a good high, don't get me wrong, but yeah it gets me a little jittery. Kinda what I've read about Sativas, but I'm so new to actually knowing my strain I'm still learning!! What I do now is mix it with some WW in the grinder :) The Speed Ryder #2's are from AC Genetics. Super skunky and super awesome. They grew nice, small and typical-main bud with side branches with popcorn buds. Had a few issues with one of the plants getting spots on the leaves, but was hard to diagnose being in a tote with two other plants. (this time each of my plants have their own 4gal self watering bucket, and lots of room to scrog) They produced incredibly milky trichomes. Milkiest out of the whole grow. Two Taigas, two Vision White Widow Auto, two Speed Ryders and the Easy Ryder all in all.

Easy Ryder on the far left, with two Speed Ryders crammed in front of it, and one of the Vision auto WW. The first WW I let grow normal, this second I LST'd a bit to get multiple kolas. But in the end, the 1st one weighed in at 185 grams wet, and the second was 156 grams wet. Both harvested on 63 days though, which was nice.

Very nice indeed. I am digging the totes as well. Without a doubt a very impressive first grow.

Your starting out on the right path my friend.. keep us up to date on how the smoke is and how your curing process...overall, great job

Thank you :)

I posted a tutorial in the DIY forum on how I assembled these 10gal totes, in case anyone is interested. It's in the self watering sticky.

The smoke is getting better all the time :) As it was my first grow I experimented with a few different drying methods. The majority of it all was dried via the brown bag method. (small nugs, 1 layer deep in a brown paper bag, folded closed and stored in a cool dark place for as long as necessary [1 day for every 10% relative humidity, plus one extra day] ) But I also let some hang dry, and even water cured some WW due to a little mold, then bag or shoebox dried those, using the shoebox like the brown paper bag. Then placed into jars with a hygrometer and burped once a day until around 60%.

The Dutch Passion Taigas are super tasty, and remind me of grapefruits a lot. Pleasant high, I enjoyed outdoor activities while medicating with this. The Vision WW is earthy, and spicy and smooth. Smelled kinda like coffee when growing. Great evening toke. The Speed Ryder #2's are my favorite as far as smoke goes. Super duper skunky, powerful odor and flavor..just delicious. High is great. Relaxing and uplifting. And the Easy Ryder is getting stinkier, starting to lean away from the citrus smell and take on a little more pungent note. High is a little more calming than before, it seems. Maybe its me.
