Okay AFN,
Its been awhile...
So my Question is if a 400w lamp runs 20/4 will the landlord have a red flag set off by the hydro bill? or will the change in cost be minimal? Currently renting all inclusive. Thanks :tiphat:

It might raise the elec bill some what but not ware it should cause any alarms.

I run 2 x 600w hps on 20/4 with 2 fans and air con 2940w on low speeds 24/24 and got an electrical Bill of 150€ per month, so i reckon your setup would ne no more than 50€ per month, hope its helps

If you know what your landlord pays for electricity or what the prevailing rate is in your are you can do the calculation.

So in my area I pay roughly .11 per kilowatt/hr. So that is, .00011 per watt per hour. So, a 400w bulb running for one hour would cost 400 * .00011= .044. If run 20 hours a day, 20 * .044= $.88 and then run 30 days in a month $.88 * 30= $26.40.

So it would costs me 26.40 a month to run that light 20 hours a day, 30 days.

Awsome!! Thanks for such quick replies everyone!!!

It depends on your landlord!

Using 400w 20/24 cost me around 20 dollar = 15 euro =13 pound every month!

but a lamps uses more than just 400 its more like 420-440w and you nee some fans and /or pumps 24/24 also 40-120 watt extra.

So it depends totally on the total use of electricity in your house!

If you live alone in a small house and you dont use allot of electricity monthly I would advise to go for a small led setup with a total of 200-250 watt to stay stealthy for your land lord!

Anyhow better safe than sorry :gthumb:

And the extractor and intake if not passif maybe a humidifier etc etc , estimate with all That no more between 30 to 50 bucks p/month
