Grow Mediums Eleventysix's First attemp at DWC

@dcat0921 she really seemed to respond well to the nutrients... It seemed like over the weekend I would check on her about every 5 hours or so and I could see growth in that little time.. in soil I never saw growth that quickly and the photos I have grown out before definitely seemed a little slow starting out. I think that was actually day 13 or 14 once I went and looked back at the dates. I really haven't kept up like I should be honestly .. Like you said, I am going to keep doing what I'm doing and if she starts to go down hill I'll change up some things but for now things seem to be on track ...

It's crazy how much they can grow daily in DWC...you can almost watch them growing.
Just keep an eye on them as a small thing can become a big thing quickly if not remedied.
I have 2 going now that are about 2 days apart and the size difference is crazy...one looks 20 days older.

its been a couple days .. I haven't really gotten too much of a chance to get on and check anything out.. I feel like she's not doing as well as I would of hoped for day 18 but she's still growing just not quite at a rampant pace as she was before.. I noticed the roots were starting to get a littlel brown but I wasn't sure if it was nutrient stained or root rot but I included a picture of the roots in the update.. I have been keeping a frozen bottle in the res to try to keep temps down.. I went ahead and put her back on the fox farms she seemed to like it a lot better than the advanced ... so she's on around 9 tsp of grow big, and 9 tsp of big bloom, and a tbsp of voodoo juice.. this is in about 4 gals of water.. 800 ppm .. that's what the fox farms chart has me feeding around week 3.. doesn't seem to have any signs of nute burn at the moment .. she isn't really growing upwards at all ..

If it is root rot I might just throw this lady out and start my blue dream auto and see what I can do with that... from the reading I've done that stuff is pretty devastating once it starts... All I know is I thought I was doing well but she seems to have dropped off since last update that's for sure!

I hope she gets better soon man!
I see you mentioned you have about 4 gallons of nutes in your dwc. Where does your water level stand and what is your res temp?
If you have problems with high res temps, I heard hydroguard is good for healthy roots and it prevents root rot, ive heard multiple people claim to cure root rot with it! I have not tried it myself yet but i have some ready for when i start my dwc.

I'm back with an update after a couple days I keep the water level about an inch or so under the net pot, as far as the temperature I couldn't tell ya but I do try to keep it cool as possible. I have been using frozen bottles of water to try to keep the temps down. I do believe I am going to invest in some hydroguard. I actually came home the other day and the res was super warm.. I got the water temperature down and sure enough we had some good growth in the next 12 hours... We have some good root action going on finally also..

I've got yet another update.. but some concerns also.. I have noticed that some of the leaves have started to curl downward.. I have been seeing this at least for the last week .. I thought maybe too much nitrogen so I backed off the nutrients and we are sitting at around 560 ppm now.. she seems to be growing just fine and not really showing any deficiencies but still the some of the leaves are curling downward. The temps in the res seem to be fine also and we are staying at a constant 5.8 to 6.3 ... Maybe somebody might have an answer or two who knows but here are some of the pictures .. today makes day 21

Do you have fans blowing on them? Not too sure what's causing the curl...maybe @witchyhour can chime in...
Quick question..how close are your lights?

I do not have a fan blowing in.. I haven't used a fan for the last couple grows I did with no ill effect.. maybe I should get a small fan.. but I keep my light about 2ft above the plant during veg..

Sweet baby Jesus!!!! Did I just read you are rolling with 750PPM? Even 500PPM is off the charts for a plant this size and age.The plain fact that she hasn't gone up in a flaming ball of fire from nute burn makes you the luckiest man alive. Do NOT ...I repeat....DO NOT follow any feeding chart no matter the brand. You MUST follow only what YOUR plant wants. You have to learn to read what she is using. Judging the size of your plant you should be only at 150+- PPM at most I would say. The slow growth, twisted leaves and coloring all point to lock out and nute stress. I believe that it is best to always keep your girls a little hungry. Top off your bucket to what ever level you are running it at. Unlike most growers I run mine all the way up the net pot. Mix up a new bucket with a PPM of 150. In 24hrs check your PPM's again. If they are higher than 150PPM then you need to back the PPM's down the same about that they are above your 150 set point. If your PPM's are 100 it would be safe then and only then to up the PPM's half of what the lower level is i.e. you set the bucket to 150PPM..24hrs later it is 130PPM...top off the bucket to your set level and add nutes to bring the bucket to 160PPM.

The trick with autos is that being we don't run clones we have to adjust to each plants individual needs and pay ZERO attention to commercial feed charts. Different plants even of the same strain will have different needs.
