Grow Mediums Eleventysix's First attemp at DWC

Here is a couple more of my 2 cents......this out of control she plant from hell is a DNA Genetics Kushberry photoperiod that I have going right now. She is on day 66 and stands 47" from the top of the bucket. Up until a few days ago she has wanted nothing to do whats so ever with a PPM OVER only 500! I am very curious to what your PPM readings are from day to day.
I have seen some of your grows before and the majority are nothing short of amaizng.. I also noticed you grow in 3.5 gallon buckets and have just monster plants, which also blows my mind.. I took your advice and lowered my ppm.. My water starts out at 140ppm and after adding the advanced nutrients sensi A and B its now at 240 ppm.. All this is so new to me and I've been seeing everyone on here growing this way and thought why not give DWC a try so any tips or pointers I'm completely open to! It's definitely good to have ya around for the knowledge and I really appreciate it! I will definitely keep you updated on what the ppm readings are.. to go back to prior readings I know she was drinking a good bit more water everyday because the water level would be down and he ppm would have gone up from earlier checks.. but I will definitely keep you updated hotbunz
@HotBunz I can tell ya dropping her down to 240ppm seems to be working... I can tell just overnight in probably 9-10 hours she has shot up at least an inch and the new growth on top is looking as healthy as can be! I think all I needed was a little guidance.. I will keep an eye on her and see what she tells me she wants.. The root growth seems to be going crazy after I dropped the ppm also! I need to get her a bit bigger maybe this next week "IF" I can get some good growth out of her I'll go ahead and switch her over to 12/12 .. well here's a couple pics ..

Oh now I see some of your issue....your base water is 140PPM! The thing is you have 140PPM that we have no idea what it is. A simple $70 RO/DI is worth it's weight in GOLD for a DWC grow.
I'm back with a little update.. its been about 6 days and she seems to be doing OK.. not great but ok.. the new growth up top seems to have some nute burn at the end of the leaves but all the new growth towards the bottom of the plant looks good and healthy. @HotBunz you were speaking of a $70 ro/di system.. I looked for one that cheap but only found one I was wondering if that was the you were talking about.. The aquaticLife RO buddie 3 stage is the only one I could find for that price .. I assume that's the one you were talking about ..
@eleventysix My RO/DI is from Pure Water Club. http://www.purewaterclub.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=95&products_id=246 it is a 50gpd unit. The 100gpd unit is only a few bucks more. Great little units. I used one for a long time with my salt water fish tank hobby and now the one I have for growing.
@HotBunz I checked out those RO systems and I do believe I am going to purchase the one you sent me in the next coming weeks. I think it would be beneficial for me to go ahead and get that one..
The plant for some reason in the last few days has responded well, I let the water level get a little lower than i usually keep it and it has seemed to thrive! I'm still only at around 250 ppm and getting a little nute burn but doesn't seem to be slowing her down at all.. It's around day 30 or so honestly not keeping up, but I do know I am going to turn her over to 12/12 at the end of this week.. my tent is only 5 ft tall so I need to do it SOON.. I'm going to start her on some LST I do believe maybe I can keep her a little shorter.. its been 3 days since my last update so this is the change in 3 days..

@dcat0921 She is a photo. Since I had never ran a DWC grow I wanted to practice on one of my freebies ... I only had a humboldt seeds Blue Dream auto left so If this grow didn't work out I didn't want to waste it ya know.. I decided to practice on this Tangie but I do believe I'm going to order some beans.. I've had awesome luck with Dutch Passion and Dinafem .. do you have any recommendations on anything you've had pretty good luck with?
