Have to give in to the hype :pimp:
Call it peer pressure if you want. lol

My setup at the moment:
Sweet seeds: 2: Jack47 (auto-fem) from herbies.
Got a no-branded ballast-required LED light system. (got the veg & flower switches)
2 reptile exo-terra (natural) lights (UVA) & 2 red spectrum CFL lights covering the bottom leaves.

Soil/medium is 50/50 perlite & vermiculite with 30% coco all mixed in what seems to be a tall 30L "luster"pot (8gallons)
put some coco on top of the medium later on to keep light from penetrating to the roots.
Nutrition: Advanced Dutch Formula. Also a lot of other extras like cleaners, amino acids, and hesi root complex.

Water schedules has been all mixed up. (when dry)
PH is aimed for 5.8~6.0
I got fluctuating temperatures that go from:
23~25 at night // 25~30+ during the day.

CO2 enrichment all up in there as well. (with meters)
Ranging at 600ppm~1000ppm
1 input & 1 exhaust fan (no ducts) with carbon filtering. Air conditioning fan.
Fresh (carbon filtered) air is on the bottom. Exhaust is on top.

Currently my only predicament is the no flowering aspect in week 5....
got 2 poking out here and there...:kitty:
I plan on cutting the lights to 12/12 A.S.A.P. to let it flower and then raise the light schedule again.
Is this a good idea or do I have to keep it on 12/12 when I switch?

I will be taking new photos tomorrow.
Anything from anyone will be taken as a token of appreciation.
Until then I remain.

{Photo is in week 3 1/2}

Week 5.

Switched it on the 12\12 schedule.
Still no severe growth for about a week.

I may have over-vegged?
I heard that F3 auto's are like only 70%~80% auto.... starting to believe that statement. ;-/

I wish I could help man....but literally everything you're running and everything going on here is alien to me.

Never heard of:

Such a light mix as 37.5% perlite/37.5% vermiculite/30% Coco.

A 5.8-6.0 target pH although I have heard of lower pH targets for semi-soiless mediums

The lights you're running (Sidenote: what is their Watt output?)

Using Carbon filter to filter intake air?

I, literally, have NEVER heard of a Sweet Seed not auto-ing

Never heard or read about a Sweet Seed having to be flipped by a 12/12 move

I don't say these things to be critical, I don't know enough to classify any of those choices as ill-advised
just haven't heard of any of it.

Where did you acquire the seeds, if I may ask?

My Sweet Seed showed sex at day 15 and started blooming around day 30 or somewhere around there.

Like I said, wish I could help, but guessing wouldn't do you any good....

Good Luck :)

Hey, you know what? I thought about it some more....

So, your medium is SERIOUSLY conducive to easy root growth

your pot is GIGANTIC

Maybe all the plant's energy thus far has been spent on root development? and that's why it seems like the above ground is behind schedule....

Just a theory...:)

Or you got the F1 Fast Versions that aren't autos....at which point the 12/12 is EXACTLY the thing to do. :)

Hey, thanks a lot partnah :tiphat:
Didn't know what I was doing with the soil when I started....
I did do the whole wash thing before though.

As for PH, I thought just going with that one PH graph that referred to 5.8~6.0 as best.

Those LED's are China-made but I paid like 700$ for it.... (It's got these little intake-air ports!!!!)
Fuyuang: 20-27V 6A LED driver OUTPUT: 24VDC 6A TC:75 celcius INPUT: 100~240VAC 50/60Hz 200VA

The reason for carbon intake was just so there's no dust and crap all flying around.
I should mention that the exhaust fan is twice as stronger than the intake, so I put the exhaust on a 15min timer.

Seeds are from Herbies! http://www.herbiesheadshop.com/sweet-auto-jack-47-autoflowering-feminised-seeds-3631

You may be right about the Roots!
The thing is they just stopped growing completely for like a week....
I did mess with the lighting schedules, and gave them nutrients about 2 weeks before I should've too...
Saw some other dudes grow and it took 115days for harvest....

Anywhom, I guess this is a very weird grow now that you pointed it out...hard to diagnose. :Medibles:
WHEN the flowers do take off: What do you think about switching the lights back to 18/6?

P.S.
I got these pots so I can get the tallest plant possible.
Wait to you see what the grow tent looks like on the out-side!! You'll freak!
:yoinks:

Those guys going 115 are running F1 Fast Versions, which are photos, so they're elongating veg on purpose. (I think...)

I apologize, those numbers relating to you lights don't mean anything to me...do they have a listed actual wattage draw?

It sounds like it just got stunted...don't know for sure. Or you got the F1 FV's by mistake....

Hopefully she'll show sex soon :)

Oh waow, I expressed the ballast, not the light. "uuuuggghhhh.."

It comes to find out the brand is Parus lighting! lol
LED:2〜3Watt Hi-power PG LED
Power consumption: 75W
Input Voltage: AC100V〜240V,50/60Hz
PPFD: 450µmol m-2s-1
Pulse period measurement: 400µs,Duty rate50%
LED Wave-length: 430nm〜450nm, 630nm,660nm
R,B,RB
Life: Over 50,000Hr
Lighting Angle: 60°〜180°
Dimension: 120×52×5cm

It was actually 850$....

So yea, did my research and came across 3 posts saying it's the roots growing out like crazy to hit any kind of wall before flower.
Here was the most reassuring one:
http://www.bigbuddhaseeds.com/Big-B...wing-Guides/auto-growing-with-the-buddha.html
Now I'm kind of disappointed I switched to 12/12.... mother UGHHHH.

Back to my question:
What happens when I switch from 12/12 to 18/6 light cycle?

Okay...so a little underlit - 4 spectrum...

I figured it may be expending most energy trying to sink that taproot to the bottom of the big pot.

As to your question....if you got the autos- and not the F1 FV version (which we may not know...if there was a foul up)

Shouldn't be any problem going back to 18/6 or 20/4 or any auto-based light cycle. They are on their own schedule as Autos
and the light isn't going to change that. To my knowledge.

Been researching a lot about this now; (Can't get it off my mind.)
I'm feeling it's got to do with the roots fOr sure.
Hopefully its nothing disease related like Pythium...
Anywhom; I got a new question now!

Has anyone ever tried putting air stones on the the inside-side of their pots for O2?

Tried looking it up and got no hits.... Am I stupid? lol
(...OK nvm, found the thread): http://boards.cannabis.com/advanced-techniques/165692-airstones-soil.html
Big no no.
I might try that straw thing....
I'm just tripping out because I have no idea what's going on in the center of the pot.
Will be doing some configuration's today... that pot weighs like 70pounds....

Also be taking photos daily to get something to compare with day by day.

I just oxygenate the heck out of my feed water and that does a lot to deliver O2 to the root system....and an airpot ;)

I have a 3 gallon reservoir and a fish tank pump w/ 2 lines and 2 airstones in the reservoir. 24hrs saturates the water with as much O2 as it can hold.

The thing with your situation though, is that the medium is so light, those roots should have NO PROBLEM spreading around rapidly.

I think once they figure things out, the top side is going to go off...it's just a matter of how much time is left on the clock once that happens.

This go around, you may end up with a shorter plant that flowers really well. I can't even fathom what the watering/feeding schedule is going to look like.

Good Luck!
