Hi all!
Just a quick how to!
*1, clean hands at all times & no detergents
*2, bubble your water to evaporate chlorine etc!
General consensus is 24hrs
*3, prepare your water and record pH/EC/TDS/PPM etc before and after any adjustments that may be needed!
PIC to come
You should know your water quality as it will have a continuing effect on your grow and you may need to look deeper into water preparation and/or other sources than from your tap!
*4, choose your plug/cube etc and soak!
Squeeze excess water out, looking for marshmallow type consistency!
*5, Bonus plug/cube hacks! (not really needed but hey why not?!)
Skewer right through the plug!
Cut a + in the bottom of the cube/plug, can be done before or after soaking!
If using a plug with mesh cut the bottom mesh away with scissors after soaking
*6, Orientate your seed carefully ensuring the pointy end down!
Tuck her in approx 3-5mm under the surface
*7, Find something to use as a dome!
pic
Place on widow sill during the day (weather permitting) otherwise use a low watt incandescent globe or LED
pic
And on heat mat during the evening (a modem will work in a pinch)
I always put a barrier between my saucer and heat mat such as a tea towel to lessen direct heat.

If you have a colder climate ensure temp is maintained at around 20-24degrees Celsius anywhere the seed is!
*8, Burp your dome 3-4 times a day at a minimum and feed condensation back onto the cube/plug
pic
*9, Using a syringe or child's medicine dropper monitor and maintain constant moisture aka 'marshmallow' consistency!
pic
*10, Within 2 or 3 days your girl should emerge and say hello!
pic
When a tap root is clearly visible at the bottom of the plug or cube it is time to transplant into her final home!
pic
There are lots of ways to germ a seed but if you are stuck give the above a try!
f6 disclaimers!
The above is simply how I do it
I have done all sorts of rituals and the above works for me!
A few things I avoid:
-Soaking, paper towel etc (been there done that, buy from good breeder/bank!)
-Rockwool cubes (can cause high or rising pH issues) I haven't had issue with plugs or jiffies and solids in my lines but I also use filtration so ymmv!
-Cheap commercial propagation trays/systems (they go manky, use if you are doing a lot of seeds but throw out after use) imo!
