New Grower Fans on or off at lifhts out

During lights on time with everything on the temps stay at around 25C/77F. Which as far as i believe is relatively good. I am on a 18/6 light schedule. If i leave everything on when the light is off it drops to about 18C/64F. However if i turn the extract off then it stays at around 21C/70F. It does really bother me which way i do it, just want to do the best for the plants really, but as this is my first grow and the very early stages of it i will probably leave it on so as to control the smell element that will begin to appear soon.

its not only smell but possibly humidity your gunna be keeping in check , even with a fan blowing across them if your humidity is high your only pushing wet air

keep the exhaust on imo

Maybe try a 20/4 light schedule? also I have my lights out at the warmest part of the day.

64 F for a short time during lights out with a gradual drop, I don't see the issue?

Yup, just leave them shits on, sir. 64F for lights off is just fine. There are variable speed/temp controls you can add that will automatically speed up and slow down your extraction fan based on a temp set on thermostat. Useful, but you don't really need it in your case.

plants will transpire....release moisture to the air, more during the lights-O period. Avoiding built up humidity is key when growing cannabis, so having a fan in the grow-area moving air around is essential IMO....temps of 18*C-21*C-25*C are reasonable functioning temperatures...below 15*C plant growth slows and near or below 5*C it will stop...keeping the rootball warmer will allow it to handle lower temps more easily.

I leave the exhaust fan with filter going 24/7...and always have a fan moving air around the grow-area.

If one has a dual grow area setup one could stagger the lighting times and vent air from one grow-area to another so they will warm each other when needed.

I just wanted to clear this up, having a circulation fan pushing air around your tent/cab/room is going to do absolutely nothing to lower your humidity. It's the extraction fan that removes the humid air and replaces it with fresh air.

thats what i was trying to tell em , if you shut off the extraction it dont matter if you have a fan blowing in there , its still wet air being pushed around , ive seen many a grower who got bud rot growing the same clones as myself (donated by me) when i myself never once seen mold or rot

Just keep in mind, if your situation dictates, there are alternate methods of keeping RH lowered (desiccants are a good place to start), especially if you live in a humid climate where no amount of fresh air will drop your RH (like say in the tropics). While constant fresh air is ideal for fresh CO2 (there are many cheap ways to supplement and increase this CO2 supply passively) there are other reasons to not want a fan running 24/7 (although ideal for mold and mildew problems). This is why I believe it is a balancing act, although likely in a high humidity area you are prone to mold and mildew and would prefer to be constantly scrubbing the air, a small ozone generator can run 24/7 at <5w, remove mold and mildew, keep your energy bill down AND produce extra CO2 for your plants to consume. This combined with the right amount of regularly cleaned desiccant can keep RH in check and keep your energy bill lowered and your CO2 levels relatively normal (I am not sure about the increase or decrease of PPM of CO2 due to the ozone generator but it does create O2 and CO2 as a byproduct of air scrubbing). So while 24/7 exhaust is the preferred method for most growers, there are many alternatives (especially for small grows).

Keep that fan on!!! At least a medium setting or on low. Plants need consant moving air! #1 so the leaves can get fresh air to replace the co2. #2 it also builds up your plants stems so it can hold more weight! (big buds) you dont want your stems to snap under their own weight!! #3 keeps the dust particals off the plant!! You want your plant to be strong and happy! Hope this helps!
