Fox Farm Feed Schedule

I have seen a few questions on this as well as had a few directly asked to me about these products. Since there was a demand on the knowledge i figured i would share what i use and how much and when.

Currently i am using my own teas, BUT i still have the FF on standby. When it comes to FF products you have to know one thing these are not organic, but they do have organic compounds in them. You have to be careful with the use of them as they WILL burn the piss out of your plants. With that said lets get into the meat and potatoes of this.

Right now Fox Farms sells a wide variety of cannc friendly ferts, soils, and mixes that suit any need of the grower. It leaves you with several questions as to what to use, how much and when. i hope to simplify this for you after you read this info. i have tried a few of their products other than the FF trio but i have to say hands down that if used right as well as routinely fed your plants will get huge. There is Grow Big, Big Bloom, and Tiger Bloom that form the main trio, they offer it in both soil and hydro applications. So they cover both sides of the spectrum here. So you hydro guys are not left out of this as the levels i use for the soil are THE same as i used for Hydro back in the day. Im sure that i could have pushed it a little further in the hydro setup.

Most autos do not need fed until they sex, most of them make it to this point before they ever need any type of feeding other than the pH water. Usually you see the need for feed at or around 2 weeks of life. You will see the Cotyledons begin to yellow and this is usually the first sign for food. At this point most begin to add nutes to their feedings to heal the plant as well as make it grow. I how ever push them a little bit when it comes to the FF stuff. I have grown out several autos and have learned from them what they like and when they like it and most important can handle it.

As you grow out your own autos you will see that they need a specific treatment from one strain to the next, even one pheno to the next. As we know autos are not real stable at this time but are getting close to it. I see this happening in the near future though.

So if you would like to super charge your autos this is what I do. But remember that this is my feed schedule to my conditions as well as soil amendments. SO if you know you have a hot soil ease up on the mix to make sure you dont burn and if your soil is plain compo you can get a little brave but less is more here.

The back of most of the FF bottles say 2teaspoons for regular feed and 3 for heavy feeding. I never use the 3teaspoon regimen. 2tsp is ideal for a 1/4 part break down.

Week
1 pH water only

1.5 add in Big Bloom to the mix at 1/2 tea spoon

2 1/2tsp Grow Big 1/2 tsp Big Bloom

2.5 3/4 tsp of grow big

3 1tsp grow big and 1/2 Tiger bloom 1/2 tea spoon Big Bloom

3.5 1/2 tsp Grow Big 1/2tsp Tiger bloom

4 1tsp Tiger bloom 1/2 tsp Grow Big

4.5 Clean pH'ed water to clear out salt build up

5 2tsp tiger bloom 1/2 grow big

5.5 1 Teaspoon Grow Big

6 Begin Flush for the final weeks. At this point i can flush for a week before i begin to see yellowing of the fans.

I like to leave enough time to get all the salts out of there before the harvest. This stuff WILL salt up on you and cause build up and lock out.

Hope this helps some of you out there and remember this may vary to your application. This is just MY feed schedule.

Will be doing an organic fox farm grow in about 1 ½ monthafter my next harvest will document and post. Have not used there products yet but have them now on standbuy.:head:

Hey man I got my nutes late. I only have grow big and the tiger bloom.

I gave 1/4 tsp grow big at day 33 and will give 1/4 bloom nutes tonight at day 41.

I haven't watered since I gave veg nutes at day 33, should I give regular ph'd water or is it ok to go from veg nutes straight to bloom? :smoke:

i just ask the same exact question to reb LOL! -- i was hoping to get an idea.

ive been having an agressive schedule which is feed>feed>feed repeat with no break.

i will personally give the plants plain ph+molasses as a transition from veg nutes to flower nutes with my current run.

im not sure if its necessary -- probably a personal preference.

Yea I'm having some problems on one of mine..I fed some tiger bloom yesterday to my plant that was drooping and had dying, yellow leaves at the bottom..today the leaves aren't drooping no more but the leaves that were yellowing and dying got worse..

Idk if I gave it nute burn if u look at my purple kush grow journal u can see and hopefully give me some advice:D

Im debating on if I should feed my other one tiger bloom or regular water, I'm waiting till I get more responses on the one i fed yesterday on my journal..

I have original happy frog soil from fox farm and some wormcastings with bat guano and for feeding I have 5-8-4 organic granular fertilizerI will be using with black strap molasses. Going to start in peat pellets insprout dome and transplant to 3 gallon pot. Going to mix about a 2/1 ratio ofsoil with the worm castings and place in bottom 1/3 of a 3 gallon pot so lowerparts of soil are high in P. Will see what plants look like but plan on feedingonce at day 30 and again at day 50 along with a little black strap and Epsom saltin a few watering’s. Might pick up some high nitrogen happy frog just in case Ineed an early feeding also. Not sure what I am placing in the dirt yet have afew options, Might be Northern lights X big bud, Double diesel ryder with and aphoto plant of Mind bender ( Mind bender will get a 5 gallon pot)

Fox Farm Product Breakdown

Hi AFN Friends,

Now, this looks like a thread I can throw a little input into. First , let me start off by saying that I've been growing for over 5 years now and I've used basically every FoxFarm product out there! I started off using the base line liquid trio (Grow Big, Big Bloom and Tiger Bloom) with all of my grows. I later added the soluble line (Open Sesame, Beastie Bloomz and Cha Ching) with impressive results. For those that are thinking about trying the soluble line but are afraid of the prices I suggest shopping around online. My local stores were really pricey with the trio but, I found an online eBay store that I paid $50.00 for all 3 as a pack!! I use the trio in every grow and haven't even gone through 1/4 of the containers, they will last you forever!! I have now added FoxFarms newest products to my routine which include Microbe Brew, Kangaroots and SledgeHammer. Here is a basic list of the things I use in almost every grow:

*Grow: FoxFarm 'Grow Big'
*Bloom: FoxFarm 'Big Bloom' and FoxFarm 'Tiger Bloom' and Plant Success Granulars (in my soil mix)
*Granules: FoxFarm Trio ('Open Sesame', 'Beastie Bloomz' and 'Cha Ching')
*Miscellaneous: FoxFarm's BushDoctor ('Kangaroots', 'Microbe Brew'), Botanicare 'Sweet' and Sucanat (Organic Cane Sugar)
*Flush: FoxFarm's BushDoctor Sledgehammer and h2O

I use all of these in light doses throughout the grow cycle. I've basically taken the FoxFarm Recommended Feeding Chart and adjusted it to accommodate Auto grow cycles. I'm attaching a copy of the basic guidelines I use for my Auto grows. This feeding schedule is merely a base for my grows. I adjust them accordingly to the strain I'm growing, at the time. I welcome any suggestions/changes that anyone might think would be beneficial. :stir:

Soil

I started off using FoxFarm 'Ocean Forest' but, found that it runs a bit hot on seedlings and transplants. So, I began adding FoxFarm "Happy Frog' to the mix and found it to be almost perfect for all phases of the growth cycle. I would even add 'Light Warrior' in to the mix but, I already use 'Plant Success' for my beneficial fungi. I do a 50/50 mix of the two. But, if I wanted to add 'Light Warrior' I would probably do a 1/3-1/3-1/3. This soils mix hasn't given me any problems from seedling to adult since I started mixing the 2 together.

Nutrients

*Liquid Trio (Grow Big, Big Bloom and Tiger Bloom)

One thing I've noticed with these are that they work well individually but, FoxFarm made these to work best as a unit. While the Grow Big and Big Bloom speak for themselves the Tiger Bloom makes the cured out buds burn more smoothly. They are all great by themselves but, I've found the real benefit comes from working all 3 into my grows.

*Soluble Trio (Open Sesame, Beastie Bloomz and Cha Ching)

As I had said before... Yes, these are a little pricey but, if you look around the internet there are deals out there. I've watched, to see how the grows respond when I omit individual pieces from the nutrient schedule and I do see a difference. The only difference, between Autos and Photos, I'm seeing in the feeding schedule is I don't really need 'Open Sesame'. This is to promote more bud sites and early flowering. Since the Autos need to grow as tall as they can before the flowering phase begins the 'Open Sesame' starts that process a little too soon for optimum vetical growth. If you have a very small space, to grow in, then the ability to begin the flowering process early would be beneficial. However, I do notice a nice difference when using the 'Beastie Bloomz' and 'Cha Ching' both in bud size and density, as well as, overall trich (frosty) production.

*Miscellaneous Additives

I've recently added the new line of FoxFarm 'BushDoctor' products to my last few grows. 'Kangaroots' is an organic liquid inoculant used to encourage root mass development, 'Microbe Brew' is an organic blend specially formulated to help plants achieve optimum microbial habitats at the root zone and 'SledgeHammer' is an organic liquid blend designed to remove excess fertilizer salt build up in soil grows. The addition of these three products has added some nice stability to my grow space. I also personally like to use a fair amount of 'Complex Sugars' in my nutrient mixes. I do this by adding Botanicare 'Sweet' and Sucanat (Organic Cane Sugar). I also add 'Plant Success' (mycorrhizal fungi) which is a granular I add directly to my soil mix when I'm filling up fresh pots. The 'Sweet' and Sucanat I add in doses starting at 1tsp. per gallon each and finishing the grow at 2tsp. per gallon each. I mix these in directly with my nutes mix. I have been thinking about try 'Plant Success - Great White' which is a mycorrhizal fungi that I would add to the soil in liquid form.

Well that about wraps up the general things I've come across in my experiences. One thing I've noticed is that FoxFarm products, in higher doses, run a bit harsh on the girls. Instead I run all of the products in much smaller doses together and nice results. Also, I alternate between one day of nutes mix and then the next fresh h2O. As well as, flushing with 'Sledgehammer' or 'Clearex' after every change in the soluble being used. I welcome suggestions, comments, questions and/or new alternatives. This information is based solely on soil grows. I am unexperienced with conatiner systems and have never even researched them. I like the way my buds turn out through soil grows. Just a matter of preference, I guess. I look forward to hearing and talking with ALL of you very soon.
