Finally did it

Yea takes a while to work up a good soil TLO mix.And could take a while to cook depending on how you add stuff..like me im adding as i get money or find things on sale so my clock keeps resetting on my 45 day cook.I keep a bag of FFOF on hand just in case i need to grow one and the soil is not ready. The TLO for dummies is the shizzle.:grat:testerx! Im testing out TLO I made without some the good stuff and so far its better then the ones i grew in the first round without the cook(rookie mistake).:2cents: Also i find having a good base that holds water and drains right is key..Test some soil see how it gets when it dries make sure its not like a rock and its more spongee. I also got a bag of Espoma Organic potting mix and i really like it but its hard to find around my way.I just got lucky.

I have found that TLO will take quite a bit of perlite. Adding 1/3 is barely enough in my mix. :peace:

I know, right? I have to add a whole lot of perlite just to avoid the chocolate pudding

Luckily... not being a pig, I have not confused it with chocolate yet... but I get the "pudding"...

What about adding co co to move down the mud factor and help hold water?:toke:
I can't help with that since I have zero experience with coco but, I see it being used in TLO more and more often.

Make sure to rinse it thoroughly, coco has a lot of salts in it. I just recently used it to lighten up a mix, we'll see how that goes

Thanks for the replies/interest in this thread. I am really enjoying this grow and my 2 plants-DP ABB-look excellent. I really couldn't ask for better. I put together a tea brewer and I'm enjoying that part of it too. I'm not waiting to start a tlo grow. I have some stuff coming in the mail and should be here in a couple of days and picked up more ingredients locally and I'll start blending all of this together on Sat for a Critical Jack grow in about 30-40 days. I have been pouring over the organic section over and over again-can't get enough! Everything here is absolutely excellent! Keep up the good work guys! All I can say is thanks:peace:

I hvae never used it alone..well i am now in the 32oz. but in my mix i added co co and i tell you what it made my mix kinda fluffy and it takes a little getting use to knowing when its dry.But my new ladies are loving it. IMG_20130528_012409.jpgReally now that i think about it i have so much mixed into the soil hard to tell if its just the coco:joint: But even for peeps that like nutes I would still start with a TLO and do nutes only for bloom. So far I have only used phed water and molasses havent tested anything though as she is growing green.I have noticed a big difference from starting seedlings and VEG in TLO form FFOF or branded soils.
