New Grower First Autoflower grow and first time DWC - HELP PLEASE!

sounds good to me :) I usually don't even do a res change during the first two weeks. I just add nutes in the second week to get to 1/4 strength, then after one full week of 1/4 strength I do a change. Probably wouldn't need to but I like the idea of fresh water for the roots.

Hello BMAC3K

I came here via the Live Help Thread.

I am not a cocoguy, but We probably get you some looks on this soon.

Hopefully we can get you right real soon.

Good luck, and peeps will be clamouring down your doorstep in a lickety split.

I have no idea what a lickety split refers to, but it sounds real cool

Peace

Hey BigMac, just checking in from Live Help. I grow in soil so I can't help you much with the DWC feeding schedule either. Just wanted to send some good karma your way & give you kudos for sticking with it and not getting too down about the troubles. Trust me when I say that you'll have this dialed-in in no time and you'll have some dank buds as your reward. You're in the right place for help & it seems like you've got a good setup to produce quality results. :peace:

Hey bigmac good to see the heating mat came did it do the job good, sorry to see your plant troubles, one of my grow diarys the same thing happened to me my autoxtreme came out with one leaf and the think different died on me, the autoxtreme I recovered though and now it's doing great sometimes you get lucky I guess might help if it's comparable to what you had https://www.autoflower.org/f109/organic-auto-grow-think-different-autoxtreme-29993-3.html

How's it going UpInSmoke? Long time no speak lol.

yeah the heat mat really helped mate. At first i had the tank just sat on the mat but i was worried it might have been cooking the seeds a little bit so i just raised it above the mat a little bit by placing an empty paracetamol box at each end under the tray haha. Seemed to do the job :D

I'll take a peak at your thread now pal.

BTW:

- Big thanks to everyone who came over from the live thread to have a read of my setup and give support, really appreciate it guys :)

BigMac3000 you should be able to get full spectrum in your led that u buy. I run dwc dring winter because of the heat from lights water temp gets to hot during summer, then you get root rot not good. There are solutions to this it's a water chiller but that's about 1$,300 usd better off getting full spectrum led. Also especially w/ dwc use hygrozyme I wouldn't ever run a dwc grow without it, it's a little on the expansive side but its worth every penny.

I already have a 125w LED mate. I ended up buying a 400w dual spectrum hps and intended to use both to get a wider range of the spectrum but both lights won't fit in the tent i have so i'm not sure if it's doable..

At first i had the 400w hps on my plants straight away but it was getting pretty dam hot in the tent and i was worried it might be too much for the plants? So for now they're just under the 125w LED.

Yeah, i don't have the money to buy or make a water chiller man. times are hard haha, what's hygrozyme though? Nutrients?

Don't suppose anyone could tell me which light would be best to use for the plants now? 125W LED or 400W HPS?

So glad I saw this. New to HPS, have used LED for quite some time. Even in my unheated closet with one outside wall the HPS sent my temps up in to the 80's. I'm going to stick with my LED for summer!!!!

Bigmac, what I do with LED is use a cool CFL unit until it gets big enough to where the flowering is really getting going and then switch to the LED. Mine is more of the reddish purple spectrum though, just my 2 cents ;)

Day 2 from being put into the DWC buckets, both plants seem to be doing ok as far as i can tell. The think different is slightly bigger than the power flower. Both plants have their second set of leaves :)
