Hey guys this is my first attempt at DWC and I'm not sure how things are going. I'm around day 20..roots are growing like crazy in the water but I feel like everything above is going slow. And this morning the tips of some leaves seem to be yellowing and dying. Last water change I added 1tsp of Botanicare pro grow. Any advice would be greatly useful.

Hey man, I'm no expert at diagnosing plants but from what I can see is she is desperately underfed; yellowing leaves, slightly droopy, small for her age. She needs a good dose of nitrogen. The tips going brown could be calmag def if you're not feeding her any. The more information you can give the more help you will potentially receive. Do you have a grow journal for this plant? Ph/EC? Are you following any kind of feeding/nutrient schedule? I'll try and help out as much as I can bro but I'm sure others more educated than myself will also stop by. :peace:

No journal on this one. I started one in new growers forum for my plants in soil that have done very well. First attempt at any type of hydro. I assumed it was an under feeding but wasn't sure. Ph is at 5.7. I'm changing water today so I'll add more pro grow. 2tsp this time. Thanks for the quick response

I'm on my second hydro attempt so I know it can be tricky..still is! PH sounds good and I'm sure she will be happy for the extra food. There's a whole bunch of useful threads for wrapping your head around DWC and how to feed correctly etc so keep reading and keep us posted on what happens! good luck bro :peace:

Hi Alex ...Id say Pals right bro ,looks underfed ? ,that light green color makes me think the same.

How old is she ?

what is in the res she has now ?

whats the PH & EC/PPM ?

A list of all your nutes would be cool :d5::Sharing One:

Just following the hydro feed schedule in the back of the Botanicare jug

ok, two very important question...actually three.

1) What strain is it ?

2) Ambient temperatures?

3) Water temperatures?

Excessive low temps could be doing this.

I'm also seeing these problems in some plants in soil. Any ideas?

Like I said above, I'm no expert so I'll just tell you what it looks like to me..first picture looks like cal/mag deficiency, you could avoid this with a magnesium substitute like Epsom salts or any of the liquid calmag solutions from the nutrient companies. The second plant looks like nitrogen deficiency so needs more food, but it's also quite a specific yellowing - you could have the light too close? If it is too close it will burn away the chlorophyll in the leaves/bud. Hope some of this helps :peace:
