So we made it to Day 2, It been 3 days since I cahrged the coco and it was starting to get not so moist so I gave the girls 100ml RO+100ppm calmag mix(PH 5.8). My lights are at about 45" as I learned from last time too much light is no good. This time I decided to start with the lights up high, and let them dictate by their stretching when to start bringing closer incrementally. I'm trying top get the concept of less is more. Thoughts?? And thanks for following along for the ride

Good afternoon, Day 3, so far so good, watered 200ml same light solution(100 ppm PH 6.0) just around the seedling area, and after reading lot of threads relating to light cycle, yield and growth, stress on plant, etc. I was going to run this grow at 24/0 but to err in caution I decided on 20/4. I don't think temp and RH should be an issue. The plants don't seem to be stretching abnormally towards the light so I am leaving them alone. I think with the assistance, experience and guidance of the people following along, I'm getting more optimistic that I will have a sucessful grow, learn some stuff along the way, and maybe cross paths with people from all walks of life. If everyone in the world stopped and learned how to grow a plant, it would be a much happier world to live in. Just a thought. Here are some pics from today. Open to any thought or suggestions

They’re looking great! Just be patient with them right now as most of the growth is under the surface.

Looking good! Make sure soil doesn't dry out at this stage. I use a squirt bottle to mist the dirt around the girls for the first few days, so as not to disturb the little baby roots. Besides that just chill back and relax. They won't need much but a little water for the next few weeks

Good evening folks. Hope everyone had a great weekend so far. Day 4, still looking good. I wanted to give them a little water but since the coco mix was still moist I opted to leave them alone. I'm thinking it would be easier to overwater vs underwater. The more I read through these forums, the more optimistic I feel this will be a sucessful grow. I find there is so much information and opinions on any one topic its very easy for me to fall down the rabbit hole, it makes me a little dizzy. My temp and humidity went a little screwy went the lights went down but I think I have a solution. Either way I dont feel its detremental. Thanks again for following along and I always welcome any thoughts, opinions or observations. Here are todays pics

Gave them a 200ml water today, as I will do for the next few days, then I plan to slowly start increasing the amount of nutes in the water...and from my last murder spree, I will emphasize the words 'SLOWLY INCREASE" . Here are todays pics, looks like some of the girls are thinking about growing a second set of leaves. Have a good night

I and most people might agree, even in soil with no nutes added the girls should be just fine without being fed for at least 2 weeks. Maybe even three. If you push the feed too soon when they are still tiny it could really shock their system. Just a fair bit of heads up! Also, start watering further and further out to encourage the roots to develop outwards, if you keep watering straight down the plant then the roots never have to stretch searching for water. The size of your root mass will ultimately determine the size of your plant. I wish I would have done more of that earlier on in my first grow. Trying to share my rookie mistakes that I'm learning from. Have fun with it! Those girls will be little bushes in just a few weeks, and then the fun really begins!

@Illini4life Thanks for the suggestion about the larger watering circles, that makes a lot of sense. I will start doing that today. The reason I give them an ultralight mix is that is was explained to me that coco/perlite is an inert media that holds 0 nutrients and ph balanced(for the most part) and that if I put nothing in it, then when the nutrients in the seed casing run out there is nothing left. If anyone has any thoughts, please feel free to chime in

You're right. With you doing flood and drain, watering from above isn't really necessary. However coco needs nutrients every feeding unlike soil.

When I grow auto's or photos, I charge my coco to 500ppms and I'll stay like that for the first week, then if the leaves begin losing their green I will increase the feed to 750ppm, 1000, etc. over several days or weeks depending on the strains.

With you doing flood and drain you should be able to take your ppm meter and check your solution strength before and after you do a flood. If your solution is at 500ppm before flooding and 250ppm after(let the solution mix itself) the your plants are hungry but if your after flood ppm is higher than your input ppm then you are overfeeding.
