New Grower First Grow!! - Afghan Kush Ryder

Hello, after plenty of research and help from the forum to get me started on my grow I am posting this journal so I can keep getting great advice and help to my learning curve on growing. I am growing a in a rubbermaid box lined with foil tape with 6 26 watts cfl's 6500k in which I will add a few 2700k's in flowering. I am using a 6 inch inline duct fan at 250 cfm with negative air port and a 78cfm fan intake to keep the bulbs cool.. Temps can be controlled from 77-81 deg easily. As of last night my bean germed and its in the pot. my pot is 10x9 which I believe is about a gallon and a half. As per medium I am using a 50/50 mix of OF and happy frog. I also made a 6 inch deep hole by about 4 wide (handfuls) and filled it in with promix to start my seed and grow into the 50/50 mix.. Today I misted it again and added a little more soil after only planting it a little more than 1/4 inch deep (Thanks Muddy for the heads up). I have trio pack and cal mag plus for its nute feedings through out. Hope you guys have plenty of suggestions for me to get me go. Thanks in advance!!

Well good luck with that AKR! I have some sprouted and about to be potted myself. I have no suggestions as I'm all new at this auto stuff myself. I did buy a few of the "real" Star Ryder from DP today to replace the bogus SR plants that make you want to cry. I'll watch how this goes for you and pick up the help you get

Good stuff bro good luck with your grow as well. Welcome to my thread glad to have you here man.. I am a absolute beginner, just been reading everything I could to get my eyes. I figured I will start 1 lady to give my full attention as I will learn hands on with her.

OK update.. My girl today popped soil. I'm guessing today will be day 1. My question is do I still keep spraying the top moist? Or should I let the soil get dry so he roots can stretch? What do you guys do?

Keep misting it a couple times a day as seedlings like a humid environment. Once your first set of true leaves are established you can stop misting.

OK thanks muddy When misting is it safe to also mist the actual plant? Or just around the plant?

hey dank! welcome! ijust finished three akr's as muddy said once your true leaves are deployed, you can stop misting. when sprouts are in big pot, i water around the base of seedling with about four to five tablespoons of water, and after three or four days wet down the whole pot, because whats under the soil is twice what you can see! i will subb on to your grow if you dont mind? check out my akr grow, it will give you something to compare to!

only cured about a month, but taste's like high grade hash, smooth, and the high......woohoooo! not as sleepy as most indica, but a four out of five!
i had two pheno's out of three plants! good pain relief andyou forget what your doing!:smoke:
